Amazing! I went there on 26/4/2015 whilst on my honeymoon. I am from the UK and my wife is from Logan. When entering we was greeting with a charming young lady who showed us to our seats. She asked had we ever been there before to which our two guests replied that they had and would show me what to do as i had never been to a Mongolian all you can eat place before. Drinks were with us in seconds, i had ordered a raspberryade which was extremely refreshing with not too much ice, it was a very hot day and i was a tad dehydrated so drank it within about 30 seconds, no sooner was i at the bottom of the glass, and the waitress placed another one next to me. This i found to be excellent service. Being a power lifter, i am larger than average and am about 325lbs so i found the bowls in which you place your food to be a tad small, obviously it is an all you can eat so you can refill as many times as you like, but i chose to take two bowls. I filled one with various mixed meats from the meat station and the other with noodles and some onions from the noodle and veggie station ( gotta to get one of the 5 a day in lol ). The selection of meats was impressive as was the selection of noodles and veggies. I moved round to the sauces station and selected some sauces from the massive array available in which you customise your own sauces. There are recipes for common ones or you can just mix your own. i was very impressed at how clean everything was, everything having its place in an easy to navigate layout. i took my bowls over the where the chaps were cooking. In the UK we dont tend to have many places where they cook this way we have some teriyaki places but they tend to be very select and expensive often needing to be booked weeks in advance. I was mesmerised by the way the chaps were cooking, and there was a rather large chap there who cooked like a ninja. I asked him if he would mind if i took a few photographs or possibly a video, and he seemed surprised by my question and asked why, to which i replied i was on my honeymoon and was with my wife who was a local resident and that i was from the UK and didnt see this style of cooking very often, he congratulated me and wished me all the best for my marriage and allowed me to take as many pictures as i wanted. so i took about 25 pictures and video recorded my meal being cooked. It was absolutely delightful, it was washed down with 2 large glasses of cherry vanilla dr pepper. I ordered our deserts and whilst waiting for them I went outside to have a cigarette and returned to find my wife crying. A tad concerned i asked her what the matter was, and she informed me that the large chap had approached her, and asked her if she was the bride, she replied she was, and he introduced himself as the owner and said he had spoken to me and said i was a lovely friendly guy, he then proceeded to congratulate my wife on behalf of himself and all the staff at HuHot and informed her that there would be no bill for us or our two guests on this day, it was a gift from him and HuHot. This overwhelmed my wife and she cried tears of happiness and this mans kindness. I gestured to him and he came over, where i shook his hand and thanked him repeatedly for showing us such unexpected kindness and have several photographs taken with him after which he went back to his cooking. We finished our deserts and went to the podium to pay for the drinks and deserts as we assumed that the part that he so graciously gifted us was noodles part and thought the deserts and drinks would be chargeable, the charming lady at the podium smiled and told me we was free to leave and under direct order from the management, there would be no charge for anything for us and congratulated us on our marriage and wished us well for the future from everyone. Remembering it brings tears to my eyes. The whole dining experience was absolutely amazing and that day i made memories i will never ever forget, and have the luxury of being able to watch the video whenever i choose. Thank you for making my honeymoon...
Read moreThe idea of the place is great. The food set up is clean looking and pretty streamlined. The fellas cooking our food were fast and polite. However that’s about where the positives end. We had a larger group of 9. We stood around waiting to be seated as more patrons came in behind us with no one even acknowledging any of us. I was surprised to see other patrons coming behind the empty host counter to help themselves to utensils and napkins as we waited. During all of this not a single person of the wait staff even looked our way until my husband walked up to a waitress to point out the 15 people waiting to be seated. We were finally shown to our table, with not a smile or any notice as to who would be helping us, in a back room with chairs up on all the tables. Giving the feeling we were being put in a back storage room rather than an actual dining area. Eventually a waiter came and asked for our drink orders which we had to repeat, and then correct him on the drink orders numerous times. He then asked, since we were there during dinner, what side we wanted. We explained we had never been there before so we didn’t know how the whole thing worked or what sides we available for dinner. He quickly, and incoherently, buzzed through the routine. We decided we would figure it out and gave our soup and salad orders. Then waited for our drinks... and waited, and waited. Finally we decided to go get our food and assumed the drinks would be there when we got back to our table. We had a few small children with us so it took a bit to go through the line. But it was kinda fun for the kids to watch their food be cooked. Imagine our surprise when we got back to our table and still- no drinks. Finally, the waiter showed up with random salads and soups. Only half of us got the sides we actually ordered. He left to get the correct sides and quickly returned with our drink order. Again- missing drinks, wrong drinks. As he was handing me my drink he spilled it on the table and my purse. He did apologize and said he’d be right back with napkins and my 10 year old’s drink that he had wrong. He returned awhile later with the correct sides- but no napkins, no kids drink. By this time many of us had finished our first round of drinks with my son still waiting for his. So we asked for a refill for my 5 year old’s kid drink and for my 10 year old’s first glass of soda. Again, he was gone for about 15 minutes returning with my son’s drink (finally) and an adult sized glass of soda for my small 5 year old. He looked at how small she is and how large the glass was and said “Um- I guess I can bring her a straw?” Again- she is a small 5 year old who has to sit on her knees to reach her plate of food (apparently there are no booster seats?) so i asked if he could just give the larger drink to my 10 year old and he would give his sister his smaller kids glass. The waiter’s response to this request was for him to pour the drink from the big glass into her empty smaller glass spilling root beer on the ground next to us in the process. During all of this hoopla, our group was finishing plates and going back for more so our used dishes were piling up so it was becoming difficult to manage our new plates. Finally my husband took some chairs off a neighboring table so we could clear our own table ourselves as there did not seem to be any other place to put our dirty dishes (like in a fast food restaurant) At the end of our meal the waiter brought us the bill and 3 mints (again there were NINE of us) and never brought napkins to clean the sticky mess he had made on our table, and my purse, after spilling my drink. The dining experience was NOT worth the $15 a head at this restaurant. We were sorely disappointed that we could have spent almost half of what we did, gone to Panda Express, and gotten WAY...
Read moreI went here about two weeks ago, today is 5/2/15. I guess it really depends on what server you get from what I read below, but the girl i got was super cheerful and helpful in every way possible. Checked on us enough and excused herself quickly when we were clearly eating. Chatted when we were chatting. Prime example of a waitress. Chatted with me and my girlfriend and constantly made sure I had chocolate milk to settle the spice in my mouth. I was so satisfied I left her a 10$ cash tip.
The food is all you can eat noodles with side dishes you can order. Yes, a few pieces of everything were in the next ingredient box over from it. there was a carrot in the onions tin, a piece of celery in the cabbage tin, (etc). Each ingredient tin is fit snug next to each other. If you get your panties in a bunch over that, you're obviously a prick eating at an all you can eat. From what I could tell it happened constantly and the two kids refilling everything tried their best to keep it clean! But to be honest, they could redesign and rebuild that area and allow more space in between each tin so they don't mix CONSTANTLY. Yes, the sauce area was a disaster too and could use more spacing. But it didn't /ruin/ my experience at all. However, when I went there were only about 10 people, I could imagine it would be immeasurably more of a problem with a full house.
Overall it's a pretty good all you can eat mongolian grill. It could use improvements, but those improvements aren't major. If you like all you can eat noodles for a decent price, this...
