If you're a fan of crepes and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, look no further than Creme De La Crep! This charming little creperie has stolen my heart with their mouthwatering creations, particularly the Nordique and Marocaine crepes.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cozy seating arrangements and lovely decor instantly set the tone for a delightful culinary adventure. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel like a valued guest throughout my visit.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the crepes! The Nordique crepe, filled with smoked salmon, cream cheese, fresh dill, and capers, was an absolute masterpiece. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors, with the delicate crepe acting as the perfect canvas for the rich and savory ingredients. It was a true delight for my taste buds!
Equally impressive was the Marocaine crepe, which transported me to the vibrant streets of Morocco. Filled with tender Moroccan spiced chicken, roasted bell peppers, caramelized onions, and a drizzle of tangy harissa sauce, this crepe was a burst of flavors that left me craving more. The combination of sweet, spicy, and savory elements was simply divine.
What sets Creme dela Crep apart is not just the exceptional taste of their crepes, but also the attention to detail in their presentation. Each crepe was beautifully folded and garnished, making it a feast for the eyes as well. It's evident that the chefs at Creme dela Crep take great pride in their craft.
In addition to the outstanding food, the menu at Creme dela Crep offers a variety of options to suit every palate. Whether you're a meat lover, a vegetarian, or have a sweet tooth, there is something for everyone. The extensive selection of both savory and sweet crepes ensures that you'll never run out of delicious choices.
To top it all off, the prices at Creme dela Crep are incredibly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes they offer. It's a place where you can indulge in culinary excellence without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, Creme dela Crep has won me over with their exceptional crepes, inviting atmosphere, and attentive service. Whether you're a crepe enthusiast or simply looking for a unique dining experience, this place is a must-visit. Treat yourself to the Nordique and Marocaine crepes, and prepare to be blown away. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreIncredible food and service.
With regards to food, each dish is unique and distinguished by its theme. For instance, the Espignole Crepe has sausage, chorizo, peppers and eggs (over easy?) in it, but makes for Spanish reminiscence from the first bite - the ingredients are present (and of high quality), but they hardly remain in conscious. While everything I tried was delicious, it was the balance within both the flavors and the textures that makes it truly commendable. I encourage everyone (even non foodies) to try the crepes; it's all tasty, but the crepes are, of course, a speciality and their flavor repertoire certainly expands beyond the French borders.
I had the opportunity to eat here, with family, for a couple days in a row. We tried something new with every order we placed and quickly learned that it didn't matter what we ordered. "It's all great." as our first waiter put it. The dilemma of what to order began to resolve itself, as we let the serving staff decide much of our meal for us. The staff is so kind and knowledgeable that you'll feel welcome and appreciated.
The restaurant itself has the rustic appeal of a village coffee shop with a facade borrowed from a street café - this architectural pretense actually speaks truth for both the café's essence and ambiance. The interior is decorated with modern, warmly colored, impressionist paintings whose subjects also speak on behalf of the establishment - and in our case, they also spoke to the wallet. We left with a 14x14 that quite accurately described our own food philosophy (14²s are all $99, bigger canvases are priced appropriately) though I'm told they're reluctant to sell them these days because the artist no longer lives in the city.
Let me cut to the bottom line and end by quoting a statement I made sitting outside the café. "If I worked nearby, I would work every day until 7 instead of 5 so I could spend a couple hours each morning eating breakfast at Creme de la Crepe."
For fun, open up the café's Google Maps "see inside" view to see what paintings...
Read moreFood was good but the front of the house staff was really disorganized and poorly managed. We saw them clean a few tables by relocating dirty dishes to the bar top so they could sit for an hour. Plenty of staff walked by them but no one picked them up. Dirty dishes sat next to FRESH COFFEES that continued to pile up and cool off because a server was so behind, yet he continued to seat more tables instead of asking new parties to wait 5 minutes to reset, catch up, clean and stage seating in a way that wouldn’t continue to overwhelm him. These dirty dishes sat for the entirety of our (2 course) meal as more fresh coffees were placed next to them. Disgusting. I took a picture of the bar top. You can see empty water pitchers, two old water cups, trash, a used napkin, Starbucks and a fresh mimosa class next to two fresh coffees. There are more fresh coffee mugs to the right but it’s hard to tell.
All in all, this deterred us from ordering coffee. Whether or not they’re short staffed due to COVID, they need to learn how to stage seating to create a better experience for the client (& for themselves). They could also use a lesson on teamwork. The barista and other food runners could’ve easily cleaned the bar but they walked right by it. (Maybe they need to be tipped out more to encourage this?)I work in the service industry so I understand the servers mentality behind taking on as many tables as possible (to make money & get through a busy morning) but it does effect the client. If we do return, it won’t be during a time when they’re busy. We don’t want a repeat of our...
