Every time I travel to California I always go to el pollo loco. But I will never go to this location again. Yesterday some co workers and I went and got some pollo bowls we didn't notice that one was missing until we got back to the hotel that we are staying at. We also didn't receive a receipt . I paid for the food so I wanted the pollo bowl that was missing. I called this morning and told them the issue and I didn't have a receipt . I was told that it's fine and come down anytime to pick it up. I called again after work so they can take down my name in case there was any bs . I was stuck in traffic for 2 hours I fiannly arrived at the drive thru and told them everything I just mentioned. They said no one called about the issue and without a receipt I can't get my order. I told them I understand it was my fault for not having a receipt but I was told I can get my food. They said no. So I pulled up to the window and some gay guy had a attitude saying I will not get 5 pollo bowls just 1 . I told him calmly that's all I wanted was 1 the others got theirs and he slammed the window saying to his co workers that I look like a liar. I calmly told him, I don't need your food as if I am homeless and lying about the situation , I have a good job making $22 and hour working 60+ hrs a week but that doesn't give you guys the right to tell me one thing on the phone and say another once I arrive. He said "we don't even have a phone" I showed him the call log about how I called over 2 hours ago and duration was for 6 mins he then had some older lady give me my food. I told the lady it's not her fault and I apologized about the receipt but I yelled to the gay guy to next time do their job more better... When going through the drive-thru to place an order so that I can make better decisions with the food I eat I was not greeted with baseline service. When I pulled up to the drive-thru I asked for an apology from the girl who yelled at me, "are you ready yet?" She would not apologize when confronted. I have worked in the service industry for many years and I set the bar very low when going to restaurants. I consider myself easy and very chill and I got way less service than expected. She would not apologize, her co-worker David felt the need to apologize for her. I appreciate him stepping up and claiming fault for his team. Although it was too late as a local I do not see myself returning to this location. I have already spread the word regarding the service I did not receive that evening. Whether she was having an off-day or not she still has a job while she is on the clock. I did not expect a genuine apology but an apology none the less. If a manager reads this message from this location I sure hope you reach out to make it right. I left this location that night and drove to another location and received more service than I could ask for. More confirmation that I was not wrong and how I felt I was greeted that evening. I will travel many miles more just to skip over this location...
Read moreI will never come to this el pollo loco location again...First, I place my order meanwhile while I'm placing my order through the drive through I can hear the young girl laughing having side conversations with her coworker. she repeats my order back, its fine (3 piece meal & $5 pollo bowl). I get the window to pay she hands me my food with no receipt. I check the bag there's no pollo bowl. So I asked her where is the pollo bowl..she quickly prints the receipt and snatches and hands it to me saying "I didn't charge you for it....do you want to add it"....I told her no...I pull off some reading my receipt and I see she charged me for an extra breast. Which I did not even order. I look at the chicken and its hardly cooked the skin on the chicken is not crispy its Luke warm tempture damn near cold. If she wasnt busy running her mouth and laughing like she's at a party maybe she can take CORRECT orders. Whoever she is I did not get her name but she is unprofessional and does need to be working at the register through the drive through.
