I had been going to GH weekly for the past few months. Since that time I’ve noticed the owners frequently be rude to customers. Last week they aggressively threatened then called the police on a homeless man who wasn’t bothering anyone. At that time, I thought they needed lessons in de-escalation. This all culminated with me arriving today and sitting down to take a meeting before ordering my usual drink and sandwich. After about five minutes the owner came up to me and told me to order a drink or get out. I told her I’d place my order shortly and that I was a regular customer, to which she curtly replied, “that doesn’t matter. You need to order right now!” As I stood up to order, she pointed her finger across my face toward the door and yelled at me to get out. I set my shock aside, gathered my things, and she proceeded to walk up on my heels, practically pushing me out the door. I’ve never been treated with such disrespect, especially in a business that I frequent. Despite my observing their previous rudeness, I went against my better judgement because I wanted to support a Latinx owned family business. I will never patronize Ground Hideout again and I will tell all my Long Beach friends to stay away. They do not deserve anyone’s business! I bet it was an offended customer who broke their window a...

It's really unfortunate that I'm writing this because everything was fine at the beginning.

We stopped coming here because the daughter was rude to my friend and embarrassed him in front of customers. They had a wet floor sign placed (not 'bathroom closed') so after a few minutes once the floor looked dry, my friend went to use the restroom and before he could reach the door, the daughter scolded him in front of everyone for trying to use the restroom while it was closed for cleaning. We didn't know that. We waited for the floor to dry, per the wet floor sign. Shouldn't have been a big deal at all. He even apologized after getting scolded by her. She just kept looking mad and annoyed afterwards while tending to other customers, which made us feel uncomfortable and we left immediately. I'm assuming based on other reviews here that she's 'Sue'?! I hope they can talk to her and help with her interpersonal skills.

The parents (owners) are super nice, the mom has always been so sweet. The coffee is good too. I recommend the paninis. Customers that come here are friendly as well. You have to pay for street parking, which sucks, and they're a bit pricy but this is becoming the norm for good coffee shops in Long Beach. But overall, good coffee, good food,...

I have to say I being a coffee lover and one things I love is visiting different coffee shops. I love supporting the local coffee shoes and their brands and not to mention the diversity it brings. I often work at these different place or I just simply enjoy the company and or Ambience of each place . But I have to say this place is nice but the” SERVICE “ didn’t make the atmosphere of this place . The lady who was taking the order’s am going to “ assume “ she is the “ owner “ was very rude but yet tried her hardest not to show it . I truly understand the Latin culture and this Lady matter was very transparent and unapologetically rude . Which is ok if you are not running a business . Whatever you are going through or issue ect you have to check that at the door and treat everyone with respect and care Especially in the service industry. Her children that were very nice and Engaging with Customers that was good and I can understand why most people choice sit outside , yes it’s beautiful outside but the atmosphere inside does make you want to sit outside 😉 I do say the food is good and coffee ☕️ but the attitude does not match the rest of goodness of the place which...

I stopped at this place while waiting for my car to get fixed, and it was a complete mistake. The place is slow, the smoke from the kitchen fills the air, and worst of all is the woman at the cashier (pictured). She is rude, obnoxious, and has no business dealing with customers. Her nasty attitude ruined the entire visit. If management doesn’t care enough to hire respectful staff, then this place isn’t worth anyone’s time. Correction: The woman in the picture is not the person I’m referring to—it’s actually the daughter. They look alike, but the mother is just as rude and obnoxious as her daughter. Like mother, like daughter. In response to my review, they accused me of loitering in the restroom, which is completely false. They also caught me taking a picture and confronted me about it, claiming I was “harassing” them. Then, they tried to intimidate me by saying they would call the police, as if that would scare me. To the owner: Just so you know, I’m not afraid of anyone. Both your behavior and your business are terrible. There are a lot better coffee shops out there!

This was my first time at this coffee shop. I came here because there is wifi and outlets. But beware, there is an unwritten rule: “1 hour limit for computers indoors because of limited seating”. I was here on a Saturday morning. I bought a matcha latte and left a tip since I knew I wanted to stay a while. I paid almost $10. After 1 hour of being there, I was told by the female barista that there is a 1 hour limit for indoor seating for computers. I could continue to sit outside, but there are no outlets there. No where in the shop does it say that there is a time limit. Additionally, the two tables next to me (a 4 seater and a 2 seater) were empty almost the entire time! The indoor seating was not filled completely at all. I did not appreciate the lack of transparency and I felt unwelcome. I understand if all the tables were taken, and I was occupying a table for too long, but that was not the case. The 1 star is because they use real matcha here, and do not automatically add sweetener into it.
