I wanted some hot chicken, but didn't want to stand in line for an hour at Dave's. This place is reasonably priced, and right down the street, selling chicken so hot it will make you cry. One complaint was that the staff were too busy to take care of the front of house very well, so the water pitcher went unfilled, trash was overflowing, tables messy. I'll give them a pass on that though, because there was never any slack in the line of people looking to punish their taste buds for the sin of existing. (They should really hire someone just to manage front of house though).

Ok, on to the chicken! I recommend getting the $7 angry fries, as it's a great deal and basically like a bowl of hot chicken poutine. Coleslaw and crinkle cut fries give an innocuous disguise for a fiendishly spicy piece of meat lurking just below the surface. I ordered the "hot" which was a about mid point on the heat scale. After choking on inhaled chili fumes for a minute, I was rewarded with some of the spiciest protein I have had since getting hot pot in the "super spicy sauce" in Chinatown. My lips started to tingle, the shear act of breathing was painful, my eyes started watering (mascara was a bag idea) and I broke out into a mild sweat. Such a thrilling ride! My stomach turned flip flops in what I can only guess was anticipative terror as my gut awaited each punishing morsel I was shoving into my face.

The extreme heat of the dish precluded my ability to finish it. My mouth wanted more of this capsaicin-fueled fever-dream, but my stomach lining finally said, "enough is enough," and started to ache a little. I'm sure I will regret my decisions in the cold light of morning, but for now this was a perfect late night snack for someone looking for a little adventure, and who needs to clear their sinuses (and any other other related, mucous-filled cavity). My wife and I found this place on Instagram in mid-2019. We had plans all year to visit LA from Boston for vacation at the end of 2019, and every time the trip came up we talked about how bad we needed to try this place. After months and months of anticipation, we finally tried it and it did not disappoint at all.

The chicken itself is phenomenal. It is flavorful, juicy and the sliders provide a very respectable portion. I got two hot sliders (“hot” is the third hottest flavor) and one country slider (which is no sauce). The hot was insanely hot and unbelievably delicious. I can’t imagine what the next two heat levels are like. And country style was absolutely beautiful and delicious. The sliders come with pickles and coleslaw on them, and as someone who does not normally care for coleslaw, my god was it outstanding. I also got fries and mac and cheese - the fries are delicious and hot, and the mac and cheese is an absolute joy.

The staff at this location was very kind and accommodating. They were all pretty young but they had it together and ran a tight ship.
