Bonaventure Brewing Co. — Restaurant in Los Angeles

We came in in January 2023 and were pleasantly surprised. Usually, if you go to a place with a sub-four star rating on Maps, you can expect a dingy place or poor quality food, but we found neither here.

The place is located on the fourth floor of the Westin hotel. You unfortunately have to take an elevator or stairs from the 3rd or 5th floors to get there, which is probably the main drawback for the location.

We're here the rest of the week and will likely be back, since it is easily one of the best places to grab a meal in the hotel.

Atmosphere == The place was clean and appeared to be well kept, with a nice balcony that leads to the hotel pool. Some other reviews complain about a "smelly carpet" but that has, apparently, been rectified, since the whole place had hardwood floors as far as we could tell. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, and had a rapport with many of the regulars which we appreciated. I can only assume that reviews complaining about a bad bartender are talking about someone else.

Drinks == Not a massive selection of drinks, but that's OK. Not every place needs to have a wall of taps with every local beer that exists. There was a good selection, and the bartender seemed very knowledgeable when it came to mixing cocktails.

Food == The food was surprisingly good. Again, with 3.7 stars as of this rating, I was expecting microwaved fare, but instead got a good burger with crispy fries and...

Worst experience ever!! Both the bartender and so called manager! My Husband and I left La beer festival to Bonaventure brewery.April 2, 2022. Thinking it was going to be a great place! Keep in mind we are Staying at the hotel. So we thought this should be the best! We love beer so why not see what Bonaventure brewery had to offer. Boy o boy were we wrong!! The bartender was beyond rude and offensive. The so called manager was even worse! We patiently waited for our drinks. Ordered food that never came. My husband finished his drink quick so he patiently waited for the bartender that looked backed up do to under Staffing. So he claimed. Anyways when my husband asked for another beer he very rudely answered him and started telling us to leave. It’s not our fault that it’s under staff. I was So looking forward in giving a great review. Especially being a big part of the beer industry. Unfortunately there’s definitely nothing nice to say about Bonaventure brewery. I held my engagement party brunch here this past weekend, and it exceeded all my expectations. When I was searching for a venue, I was on a very tight budget. I had a vision of this beautiful outdoor setting, but with over 100 guests, I assumed I would have to let go of that vision. I didn't have to because I found Bonaventure Brewing Company (inside, but not to be confused with the Westin Bonaventure hotel).

I reached out to Jacey who is the events coordinator, and she was so kind and helpful!!! The pricing was so affordable. You won't find a gorgeous place like this for that price anywhere. Trust me, I did a lot of searching.

The outdoor setting with the greenery is such a beautiful vibe. Jacey, Erica, and the staff took such great care of us. They were very accommodating with setting up welcome sign easels, guestbook tables, memorial tables, a dessert table, etc. The bartenders and waiters were so attentive.
