If you’re a fellow coffee snob like me, run, don’t walk to Dalian’s Cafe, this place is an absolute hidden gem in Los Angeles and has become my daily ritual. I work nearby and can confidently say that this is truly one of the best-tasting coffees in town. Every cup is crafted with care and precision, and you can taste the quality in every sip: bold, smooth, and consistently excellent.
And let’s talk pastries. Whether it’s your classic buttery croissant or something sweet, they’re all fantastic, but the Vegan Carrot Cake deserves a special shoutout. I’m not vegan by any stretch, but this slice honestly competes (and wins) against any traditional carrot cake I’ve had. Moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of indulgent.
But what truly makes Dalian’s Cafe special is the hospitality and atmosphere. The baristas are not only skilled but genuinely welcoming, they remember you, your drink, and always take a moment for a conversation that feels authentic, not transactional. And Dalian himself? He’s the heart of this cafe...warm, engaging, and committed to building a sense of community.
This isn’t just a stop for coffee; it’s a place where you feel at home and leave with a great beverage, maybe a pastry (or two), and always a smile.
Highly recommend Dalian’s Cafe as one of the best local spots in Los Angeles, especially for those who appreciate excellent coffee, great service, and a genuine...

Dalian’s Café is a cute tiny cafe located on a busy street S Grand Ave., Downtown. Los Angeles, CA. They serve exquisite organic coffee, teas, pastries and specialty drinks.
Cafe’s indoor black and white color scheme emits a classy french look. Its indoor and outdoor seats provide a relaxing atmosphere. I came here early Friday morning to grab a drink; it’s one of my spontaneous LA adventure moment. I was greeted by a tall long with curly hair male staff. Server inquired if I was British? I politely said YEASSSS (I reckon what gave me away?) Lol.
After perusing their menu, I decided to grab a hot Lavender Latte x plain Croissant. Both items were bloody fantastic. Coffee was jolting and smooth while the Croissant was fresh, flaky and soft. Prices were priced according to their standard market value. Service was spot on like white on rice. Seats were limited. Finding a street parking spot was quite challenging. (I parked 1 3/4 block)
Overall, I had a nice experience and truly enjoyed my latte/croissant. I recommend you visit if you’re in the area. So until then my...
