Normally the food from Tender Greens is fresh and delicious. Today my coworker and I both had very disappointing (ie old tasting, NOT at all fresh, lacking key ingredients, TOO FISHY) salmon dishes and his chicken pozole (sp?) soup had zero chicken in it. The salmon tasted like it had been sitting out for a few days and was stringy with tendons or ligaments or fatty gooey strings each time I'd cut a piece off. I gave the whole thing to my dog minus 2 bites I ate. Very disappointing but not the norm. I wish places wouldn't reuse old food from days prior, especially fish. Plus, my piece of salmon was 1/2 the size of my coworkers, it was hilarious. I don't mind since it wasn't good anyway, but still, I mean, quality control is a thing.
I'm sure I'll order from there again because this was most likely a one-off, but it's so disappointing when you're excited about a meal and it ends up being a total dud. The Uber Eats delivery guy was great, he gets 5 stars for sure, he got a good tip. Quick and friendly and funny! At least there was something positive about the experience.
I wish I had taken pictures of our dishes because they were such different cuts of salmon. Mine was more grey than pink/peach.
Anyway, take from this what you will. Odds are your meal will be great but there's the risk of the food not being super fresh occasionally.
**Editing this review to say: Tender Greens management reached out to me soon after my review was posted to make things right and they apologized for the poor quality meals. I changed my review from a 1-star to a 3-star because of this. I really appreciate good customer service and don't want to so negatively effect the ratings of an otherwise great place. Like I said, normally Tender Greens is terrific and this experience was definitely a one-time thing. I've had MANY amazing meals here and should have taken that into account when rating on my...
Read moreAs a chef, I believe service is the most important thing. I visited this establishment and ordered the steak plate which was promptly bussed to me. A little too fast for my experience I eyed the steak suspiciously and sure enough found it to be medium rather than medium rare. I requested that the steak be remade to my liking and the hostess kindly obliged informing me that there would be a 15 minute wait. Fine with this I contented myself with my hobby of scavenging for lost jewelry. Upon finally receiving my order it arrived as expected and as ordered. However, the establishment made the grave mistake of not replacing the sides as well thus the sides arrived lukewarm and and the salad was not fresh as if just removed from the refrigerator and the medium rare steaks juices seeped into the salad resulting in a rather offputting and unsightly arrangement of bloodied greens. Might I suggest a servite damping before placing the steak in with the salad? Also, lift your arms up higher when adding salt so that it doesn't concentrate in a single area. Furthermore, if you make a mistake, fixing the mistake first is priority. You should have sent my order out on the fly. Overall, the meal was acceptable for what it was. It is a healthy alternative to much of the greasy spoon diners littering the rest of downtown. I give you a C-. Get it together.

Read moreExtremely disappointed. Would not recommend ordering this via delivery!!!! Save yourself the headache. This is the second time my husband and I have ordered from Tender Greens Downtown LA via Uber Eats, and both times our dinner was wrong. About a week ago, my mashed potatoes were missing. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them out again. Today, my salmon was completely missing! replaced with a random ketchup packet in my plate instead (see image). After a long day at work, this is beyond frustrating.
My husband spoke to someone named Tatyana I believe (think the manager was too busy to speak), and the only solutions offered were:
Drive over and pick up the salmon myself (the whole reason I ordered via Uber Eats is because I couldn't pick it up, plus we already paid a delivery fee so how does this benefit us? ), or "Possibly" refund just the salmon portion. You would think they'd refund the whole plate for the inconvenience and THEIR mistake?? leaving me with having mash potato and veggie for dinner now. To me that's poor customer service and shows how little they care about the mistake that they made. Tried to give them a pass last time, but clearly nothing has improved. The food arrives cold and missing main items. Will not be ordering here again. (Pictures attached...
