We received a comped meal as part of an Instagram collaboration. The meal started off with some awesome banchan! My faves were the fish cakes and quail eggs! I’ve never seen quail eggs for banchan so that was unique!

We tried the spam and veggie egg pancake, bone broth beef rice cake and dumpling soup, beef bulgogi, and braised wagyu oxtail. My faves were the oxtail and the egg pancakes! The oxtail was super tender and fatty, and the broth had a savory/sweet taste. The dish also comes with some veggies (like mushrooms) and glass noodles. With Oxtail soup on the menu, which I had and the broth flavor was so delicious it was mind blowing, you know this place leans into their comfort food claim. We ordered multiple dishes and all was good, but the only thing that stood out besides the soup was their kimchi. Most dishes are very reasonably priced and that certainly is why it is was packed at lunch with a crowd that had an average age of 67 (a guess). The service was fine and as you would expect, in the strip mall setting, was styled more like fast food restaurant. It’s good, it’s comfort food, but the only thing memorable was the broth on the oxtail soup that had a whopping $62 price on it. Affordable place with good service but the spicy and non-spicy seollungtang were EXTREMELY salty. I complained to the server and it turns out the cook in training put too much salt and did not taste the soup before serving as I overheard Chef Kang and waitress talking. Even the 2nd soup was very salty so I had to keep adding water to dilute the soup. At this point, I was disappointed and did not want to complain any further. They should just serve the soup bland and provide salt and pepper for customers to add to their preference. My tongue is still numb from the saltiness in fact.
