Last night I finally made time to go to paradise ice cream. I've always seen the nice reviews and I told myself I'm going to go here one day and several months later I finally came here. Overall I really like the experience. Location: located on Spring Street. From where I started I took the route that took me by the corner of 7th and Spring Street. That is a rough neighborhood I do not recommend taking children down that way. But once you start walking towards 8th st the atmosphere starts to get a lot better. Taste: I went with two scoops of the rocher and the cold brew latte chip. The taste of the ice cream was average. I've tried better ice cream than this but I've also tried worse ice cream than this it falls right in between I would give it a 2.5 to 3.0 on the Stars Service: as I walked in I was greeted by two very friendly looking employees Smiles on their face saying welcome welcome would you like to try samples. Perhaps my standards have changed but this sort of nice behavior is not commonplace anymore. I went with medium sized which is two scoops the menu said $7.50 this establishment also takes cash which is nice. Overall location I think I'd give it a 3.5 STAR kinda surrounded by a slum towards 7th st. Taste I would give it 2.5 - 3.0 STAR avg to above avg Service I would give up +5 STAR one of the nicer experiences I've had at any store in a long time. The nice service is honestly what makes me want to go back. The average score is 3.8 STARS If you (reader) happen to be in the mood for ice cream and you're nearby give this place a try. I think you'll like it.

Hands down the best ice cream I’ve ever had. I honestly will eat ice cream anywhere and just like it regardless but this place was exceptional. I was visiting LA and we stopped by here, the owners are SO nice and welcoming. We were greeted by a hearty hello when we walked in and the owners offered that we try as many flavors we wanted before we made a decision. You can tell the ice cream is fresh and the flavors are well thought out. I loved the snickerdoodle one so much I ended up taking a pint home! They have a good variety of flavors and toppings, everyone can find at least one thing they like and they have a decent amount of accommodation for food restrictions. I definitely will have to come back here next time I’m in LA. It was amazing ice cream but genuinely the two brothers who own it have such infectious warm energy it was such a nice experience especially being a tourist.

We frequently visit Paradis Ice-Cream as it is always our go-to ice-cream shop wherever we find it. This location is not an exception! In fact, this location is exceptional, one of our favorite locations as it is perfectly located in Los Angeles! All of their flavors are fresh and amazing. Try their cookie butter if you’re feeling like something traditional, a local favorite! But if you’re feeling like something more exotic, you MUST TRY their Dubai Chocolate. It is freshly made with the bestest ingredients! Every bite of this amazing cup brings joy; you’ll love every scoop of the shredded phillo dough!

So we debated quite a bit, which place to go for dessert in this area. Finally leaned towards Paradis based on the reviews, and I’m so glad we did! We were visiting from Austin, TX and we were walking there from our hotel.

Google put us on 8th Street, saying that the place was right there, but I guess if I had been paying more attention I would’ve figured out that I was not on the street that the address said. I called them to verify that we were in the right area, and the gentleman who helped me was extremely helpful and patient with me, even though I incorrectly told him what street I was on. 🤦‍♂️

When we got there, everybody was super friendly and helpful. I can’t overstate this enough, the energy coming from this group was amazing. I know it seems like a weird thing to say about an ice cream shop, but trust me on this. I legitimately can’t remember a time that I’ve had service that was this friendly! The kids decided on getting two flavors each, my daughter and I both took their recommendations, and all three of us were blown away by how delicious this ice cream was!

I had their super chocolatey one, I think it was Chocolate San Domingo, or something to that effect, as well as the Banana Sundae, my daughter got the raspberry peach mixed with strawberry, and she kept raving about how good hers was, and my son got the Oreo, along with the caramel brownie something or other.. (!?) We also got a couple brownie bites to top it off, and everything was just awesome! We found ourselves wondering if the brownies were made in-house or not.

Overall, like other reviewers said, would definitely recommend, especially if you’re torn between that and a few other places in the area. I can’t speak for all the other places, but I CAN tell you with confidence that you can’t go wrong...

Quick Summary This spot is the best ice cream spot in downtown LA and one of the best ice cream shops in LA overall. Fantastic service and phenomenal ice cream. Really caters to all customers, as they have a Wellness flavor, multiple creamy flavors, and one of the best strawberry ice creams I've had (and I usually hate strawberry ice cream). You can really taste the flavor of each ice cream, as it's not overwhelmed by cream or sugar like most other ice cream shops

Ice cream- 5 stars I love the variety and quality of ice cream offered here. Was so difficult to choose which flavor to take, because everything tasted phenomenal. The Wellness flavor was light yet flavorful. The strawberry ice cream just tasted like the sweetest strawberries. And all the cream flavors were phenomenal, mainly because it accentuates the flavors versus drowning it with cream and sugar (the banana sundae was fantastic; you can really taste the ripe bananas since they make it fresh).

Service- 5 stars The staff were very friendly throughout our visit. Similar to the rest of the reviews, they are the friendliest staff in DTA

Ambiance/Value- 5 stars It's slightly farther from the other clubs/bars in the DTLA area, but it's only at most a 5 minute walk away. Definitely worth the slightly extra walk for the higher quality experience

Bottom Line Great experience all around, from the phenomenal ice cream and the excellent service. A must-visit if you're looking for ice...
