Playa Las Tunas Restaurant — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Everything I ordered was excellent. I visited several times while in LA. I ordered the Papusas, the fajitas plates, and a breakfast plate.

The Menu had many options and each item I tried met or exceeded what I had hoped to eat. The price was amazing for the size, taste, and portions I received, they gave excellent portion sizes, and though I didn't see a show, after asking around I hear they have shows often, they play big games de turbo and even fights on a projector. I wish we had something like that back home, with authentic food, and prices like this. I would highly recommend checking it out, some of the traditional dishes take a long time to prepare. So if you know you're ordering a large item, or have a big party the simple solution is to call ahead. Though I didn't need to call ahead.

Finally I'm super critical of hispanic food in general and everything I tasted was muy authentico. Just like my mother would make, though there are some differences I found things like their side salad with a beet on it, pureed refried beans, or rice with small vegetables in it were delicious and as good if not improvements to what I grew up with.

I hope to try the margaritas next time I visit, I hear they make them in house. Of course, I'l have to have one while watching an event or game :D I highly recommend eating here and getting your favorite dish, if it helps I would call ahead to ensure your order is ready when you get there, or ready for take out.

Finally, I saw the owner in the restaurant as I was there and he greeted guests at the door, and checked in with patrons, I don't know if service gets better than that....

I would always come and eat to this restaurant until I decided to go on a Sunday went in for a yuca con chicharrón and realized the plate of food was $20 when in the weekdays it’s around $12-$15 took a look at the menu and realized ever single plate of food was over $20 when the quality and taste of the food is good the price doesn’t matter but the quality of the food was not the best we order agua de melon and it was spoiled waiter changed it to a Jamaica agua and it was also spoiled my husband order carne with camarones and the meat was hard and cold the tortillas they gave were reheated old and stale I order camarones a la diabla and the order came with 7 small shrimps for the amount that we paid the quality of the food...

Horrible! 2 out of the 3 meals ordered were wrong. We ordered an omelette with ham and scrambled eggs with sausage links. When the order came which was really late not only was it cold a d soggy but it was all wrong, they sent two orders of fried eggs with sausage patty. When I called the woman said that I did not specify how the eggs were to be cooked, which we did when it came to scrambled eggs and when I said the omelettes! I should not have to explain how I want those eggs. She then put the blame on the driver saying they get the orders from the driver. Then the driver passed our home twice to go deliver somewhere else out of the area making our order...
