GUATEMALA 🇬🇹 Eat the World LA review: It is no surprise that when Pollo Campero first expanded to the United States, they chose to set up a location in Los Angeles, the largest concentration of Guatemaltecos outside of their home country. That day back in 2002 (and for a while after), the original Pico-Union location inside of the Curacao Business Center was mobbed by Central Americans hungry for a taste of back home. It is still open and thriving in a neighborhood where many Guatemalan and other Central American people live.
There are many things that set this fast food chain above its American counterparts. Firstly, they treat you well, are friendly, and do not seem inconvenienced when you place an order. It's also nice to eat off of real plates and create less waste. Fries are not the obligatory choice of any combo meal, the list of choices is at least 10, and includes tostones, sweet plantains, Campero's special beans, and many more. In fact its obvious that this location is purposely preventing anyone who uses EBT from eating at this restuarant.
Their EBT machine "has been down" for over a year now! I know this because my friend whom receives assistance has been turned away on more than one occassion after we went out of our way to get there.
They are supposed to be an EBT accepting restuarant in Los Angeles County & were again listed in the new 2020 updated list of LA County EBT restuarant providers that is downloadable from the DPSS website itself.
Yet they still do not accept EBT and have not bothered to fix their machine for over a year now! That is just plain wrong and so unfair to someone who just wants a warm meal.
I stopped going to this restuarant myself because of them doing this even though I...
Read moreChicken no good as sold in central america. I went last week to eat. All employees are messy. Not organized and they do not care customers. I ordered drinks and the cashier nor the the lady gave me the cups when ordered. I complained the cashier with the receipt to show him it was combo and was included drinks. He did not say nothing. At least i got the cup from other employee.
Same cashier handle foods at the same time. Not good. I do not like this.
Long line waiting always. Bathroom was clean. I token is need it from cashier to open the door. There is parking on building with ticket validation. No street parking un front if the building.
