43 Years Strong
Throughout southern California including Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties and expanding out of State to Nevada and Arizona.
In 1975 our Founder, Antonio Moreno, began making his authentic Mexican tacos from a catering truck using only the freshest ingredients using family recipes. Mr. Moreno’s food truck was such a success that he opened his first “brick and mortar” restaurant in 1977 at 913 S. Broadway in Los Angeles, which is still in operation today. In addition to his authentic tacos, Mr. Moreno gradually expanded his menu to include tortas, sopes, quedadillas, and burritos. all made from specially prepared meats including carne asada, buche, cabeza, al pastor, pollo, carnitas, tripas and lengua. In addition to expanding his menu, Mr. Moreno also began opening additional restaurants throughout southern California including Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties and expanding out of State to Nevada and Arizona. By 2000 the number of Tacos Mexico restaurants had grown to almost 100 locations in three states, all while staying true to its roots and using only the freshest ingredients. Sadly, Mr. Moreno passed away in 2009, but his recipes and dream of serving authentic Mexican food lives on. All meats are seasoned by hand, marinated and cooked on site, and all sauces and salsas are made from scratch. Today, Tacos Mexico serves a diverse clientele with a common interest…to enjoy fresh, authentic, Mexican food.

Read moreUsed to come here frequently when I was a young student living in the area about 14yrs ago. Recently, I decided to stop by here again for lunch since I now work in the area (like a block away), and I must say they are still just as good as I remember them to be. Delicious Al Pastor (do wish it had the pineapples though), delicious horchata. Fresh lemons, peppers and raddishes were on hand. Didn't get any salsa (I forgot), but not sure if they had any. Guess I'll have to remember to ask next time I stop by. I'm super glad I came here for lunch! It will be my go-to spot whenever I'm craving good Mexican food and can't get out to Leo's Taco Truck over on La Brea and Venice 🤙🏼
A plus, is that Tacos Mexico is open 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, unlike Leo's which is open late-nights but you usually gotta get over there before like 3am if you're doing a late stop after a night out. So I also find their hrs to be very convenient. Also, an advantage Tacos Mexico has over Leo's is that they accept card payments. Leo's only accepts cash payments after a certain time of the night, which can be inconvenient if you're like me and tend not to carry cash frequently. Matter of fact, I'll probably be stopping in at Tacos Mexico tonight! Why...
Read moreI don't know how this place got four stars except that it's probably the upper class rubbing elbows with the slums syndrome. Because they have the money that even if it was bad they don't care. And it is bad. The one on Broadway is terrible it is so dirty what time there was a one of those pincher bugs in my torta. And the guys there you never know what kind of mood they're going to be in sometimes they're nice most of the time they're nasty. Also they have their discount Wednesday and I saw them telling some guy it's only till 8:00 p.m. and I saw the guy he was waiting in line before 8:00 and they refused to serve him at the discount price and he was a senior. It's really a nasty nasty place all of them are the one that's on Virgil and like Beverly the one that's on Glendale Boulevard by Alvarado just terrible. It is so dirty I would be surprised if you don't get a disease. Place sucķs bad so so so dirty And I saw the guy go to the bathroom and come back and he didn't...
