I discovered Takayas online when I came across the featured blog on a Chrono Trigger inspired ring designed a couple years ago and spent about a month reading through the custom designs and stories on the blog; I was pretty impressed with all the unique designs and how happy people had been with his work, so I inquired online through their website form about having my own custom engagement rings done in March 2021 with an idea for my partner's band.

Karina helped me through the whole process and was extremely patient, understanding, and super super helpful — I appreciated every email. My custom request was responded to within a couple days with information on pricing range, the process of the whole thing, timeline, engraving options, and a lot of excitement. Once I made my first deposit on the ring, the brainstorming process began; I also ended up inquiring about getting my ring set done in the same email thread and send over ideas, inspiration, and a rough sketch of what I was thinking. All of this within a couple weeks, I had made my first deposit for both rings. Any time I had thoughts or additional comments about my ring designs, I emailed Karina and she always promptly responded with helpful answers or recommendations.

After about a month, I received 3D CAD renders of the ring designs which I was just stunned at. My jaw dropped when I saw my partners ring. Takayas' creativity brought my ideas to life in ways I couldn't have imagined. I took a while to decide on coloring for the rings (white gold, yellow gold, gemstones, etc.) and sent Karina my thoughts every time. She worked with Takayas to give me expert input and the best recommendations around what I wanted, always listening to any concerns I had and letting me know that whatever was decided was always up to me in the end! Again, really appreciated this.

When I decided on metals and gemstones to be used and finalized those decisions, I made the second deposit which would let the production stage of the rings begin. My preferred date to receive the rings was by May 30th, and by mid-May I got an email from Karina saying the rings were complete and ready to ship once my final payments were made. I also had Takayas appraise the rings for insurance and those were sent to me a couple days after my final payment. The rings shipped quickly (2-day insured FedEx) and I was so excited on their arrival, I literally couldn't wait and got engaged the same night.

Even though I was nervous doing the whole process online (especially since we weren't traveling due to the pandemic), Karina made it extremely easy and heartwarming for me. Takayas is a brilliant designer and if I have any additional custom jewelry wishes in the future, I would absolutely go back to him! I hope that we'll eventually be able to visit them in LA once we are ready to travel again.

My partner reached out to ask about a custom ring back in April, and Takayas was super responsive and got back to him in 24 hours. He gave really detailed notes about what he wanted in the ring (including stone, karat sizes, metal, and theme).

Susan, who was our point of contact, was really friendly and informative. Since my partner provided really detailed information, Susan was able to provide estimates for all of the different options he was considering and explained what things would impact the pricing. She also clearly explained what the process would look like.

It took about 2 months before getting the first rendering that came with an explanation from Takayas about some of the different choices made for the design and where the inspiration was drawn from. After finalizing the design, the ring was ready to be shipped out about 3 weeks later. They also provided a few different shipping options to make sure he could keep it a surprise.

He was also able to get the ring appraised through Takayas for insurance purposes, so that was really convenient. Payment options were really flexible as well, but make sure to keep that in mind while planning. For the engagement ring, he did 3 different payments. We're also getting a custom wedding band that matches the engagement ring which we did in 5 payments instead, so it added some extra time before receiving the design.

After working with them on the wedding band, I had a very similar experience where Susan was super responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. After we got the renders, I had some small changes I wanted made and saw an updated render later that day.

I started the ring process back in November with a preferred finished date in February. The starting process was simple, just fill out an information sheet and they will contact you shortly.

I was assisted by Karina in the beginning, but Nicole helped me towards the end process. Usually they like to have one person assisting to keep the process smooth, but I didn't mind the change because they were both amazing. They kept me updated and constantly confirming the ring information was accurate, which I appreciated.

After giving a brief description of what I wanted on the ring, I was given a 3D rendition of what Takayas envisioned a few weeks later, and as soon as I saw it, I knew that it was perfect. Nothing had to be changed, and everything was incorporated beautifully.

They originally told me that it may not be finished in time because their process usually takes longer since they are independent and custom, but they were still able to finish the ring at my preferred due date which is amazing!

They gave a price estimate of the ring to see if it's still within the budget, and when agreeed to, they give a more more exact price. They have a payment plan by default which helped out a lot, so I didn't have to pay thousands of dollars right off the bat.

I love their honest work ethic, communication, and products! All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better ring to propose with. He loved the ring because it's everything he wanted in a ring.
