Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Mackinaw Township

The owner Julie Downing is very rude . I downloaded the Dairy Queen app and it had a free small sundae . Once you hit redeem you have 15 minutes to use it and it will disappear wether you use or not. I asked the cashier if I could use it . And she said she would have to ask. She asked a older gentlemen and he said no. I said this is on the Dairy Queen app I should have mentioned that first to you . Julie rudely interrupted and said no we don’t take those we don’t have the capability here for those coupons. We only take bogo coupons . My son had a bogo coupon that was printed out from his email for Dairy Queen online . And I handed it to the cashier and said do you take that one. Julie came up to window and first said no only bogo coupons . I said that is one do you take that. She said yes . So I ordered our stuff and paid. Julie came up to he second window saying something about how long the Dairy Queen’s been there and about them not taking the coupon on the app. I said someone should let corporate know that so when people go to use the app they are aware because you have to pick which Dairy Queen for the coupon and after 15 minutes the coupon is gone. And it says on the app you take it. I told Julie she didn’t have to be rude . I asked the young lady what her name was and she whispered mrs downing. So I was waiting for my order and Julie Downing was loudly spelling her name Julie so you can get it right when you call corporate”. I said You don’t have to be rude and asked for her manager and she said I’m the owner. I said I am gonna let corporate know how rude you are. She came to the window and said everybody calls corporate to get something for free. We will never go there again . There is no need for a grown woman to act like she did. Very...

I have been going to dairy Queen all my life. My grandparents owned this Dairy Queen in Mackinaw city for a lot of years, they sold it to the people who own it now. I have not been very impressed with this place lately....they barely hire locals it's all Jamaicans working there now... I always order a large cone and it seems they dont know what a large is...you know the price has gone up over the years I guess I wouldn't care so much but I'm paying almost 5 dollars for a plain cone I want what the hell I'm paying for... first world problems I get it. But tonight we went there and she goes to hand me my cone through the window and hits the whole top of it on the ledge of the window no I'm sorry let me get u a new one just keeps her arm out with the cone not saying anything and I know she say it hit the lip of the window. So I proceed to tell this girl I'm not eating that the whole top of it was dipped into the window ledge, she says nothing turns around and gets a new one that was half the size of the first one that was not even a large in the beginning...😐 Yeah I'm done going there..I guess I'll have to drive to Alanson or cheboygan to get...

Went here for a quick bite to eat before going across the bridge to the casino. We were not in the mood to wait for dinner. I must say, i was impressed with the menu, the food was very hot and tasted great, and the young people working here were really polite and organized. They were not in the back horsing around, just doing their job and helping customers. Whoever does the hiring at this location, nice group you have! Dara helped us and she was very friendly and fast. Overall a great experience. We come to mac at least once a year, and will add this to our list of quick meal places that...
