I have been coming here for the last three years and today will be the last time I step foot into this establishment. My husband called ahead and placed an order to which he was told would take 30 to 40 minutes until it was done because they were busy. I arrived a couple minutes past the 40 minute wait time to find a few people waiting in the lobby. I knew from past experiences that typically they are running behind, so I waited patiently until I was helped. The older woman at the front desk, who is always there and usually really kind, came out to help me. She came out to help another gentleman and then took my card to pay for my order. After I paid for my order, I waited a few minutes while she was helping out in the back. She came out and said that they were low on green onions in one of the entrees I had placed in my order I had asked for extra green onions. She said "sorry we are low due to supply, I did not charge you extras so we will still put some, but it will not be extra." It was a little disappointing that I wasn't told that when the order was placed, but if I'm not being charged extra for it, I suppose it will have to be okay. A few more minutes go by and she comes out with the food I had my husband order. At this point it has been about an hour after the order was called in. She then tells me that they were super busy today and that they ran out of the regular chicken that they use (which is typically marinated to have more flavor) they ran out of so instead they just gave me plain chicken and put sauce over it. to try and justify this change I was not made aware of she says "it's because normally we charge extra for this since it is a gluten-free option." At this point, I'm a little bit frustrated that I was not told all this prior to play sing my order and driving 20 minutes to come get it. If that was the case I would have not placed the order and wasted over an hour dealing with this. SoI asked for a refund She proceeds to make a scene at the fact that I'm asking for a refund for items to which I had not ordered. Calls me difficult and rude and raises her voice at me while doing so. The entire time I'm speaking politely to her but firm in my request. She was being argumentative and then got upset that I was not backing down and said that I'm "too young to talk to her like this." Sorry lady- 1. I'm not the one raising my voice at a customer and 2. This isn't a family function where your mom tells you what to do and how to do it. I'm the one paying for the items, to which I expect to receive. It's the equivalent of me going to McDonald's ordering a McChicken then giving me chicken nuggets on a bun and saying while we ran out of the patties, but this is the same thing so it's fine. No, this is not what I am ordering. I expect to receive what I have ordered not what you decide you want to give me that's not how this works. Needless to say, I will...
Read moreFirst time today I was extremely impressed. I am quite skeptical of Americanized Asian food however the Kung Pow that I had was beyond delicious. Hopefully they don't get to busy, this would be the only thing stopping me from eating lunch there multiple times per week.
UPDATE: Whenever I meet someone or encounter a business that is truly exceptional, I always engage them to find out their secret(s). I guess you could call it "research". This couple is committed to delivering the highest quality food and they are uncompromising. After reading the reviews, both positive and negative, I can say with 100% confidence that each and every one of the negative reviews are retaliatory and have no basis when the quality of the product and service is part of the conversation/consideration. In one case, a long-term customer threw a tantrum because her food wasn't done the moment she wanted it. In fact, I talked to the owner and discovered that in some cases, when the customer is running late, they will finish the meal in the wok really fast just so that they can deliver the freshest dish possible. They even try to deliver this level of service when they are extremely busy which is what happened in this situation. The critic in question also belittled and yelled at the owner repeating "when, When, when" (meaning when will the food be done) in a loud demanding voice when she learned that here food wasn't available the moment that she paid. Furthermore, the owner indicated that the food was just seconds from being ready but she was unable to take the egg roll out of the fryer and deliver the meal because the demanding patron kept yelling and it would be rude in the eyes of the owner to just walk away. After all this, the patron demanded her money back.
I would like to have a conversation with Miss/Mrs. Black (the disrespectful demeaning customer) and tell here what I think of her behavior. So yes, it's true that if you have the mentality and manic nature of a 3 year old, you may not have a great experience each and every visit, particularly if this couple (that's 2 people) are very busy prepping, taking orders, serving and cooking. For those of you who are actually adults and understand that the world doesn't revolve to serve your fluttering whims, you will be delighted with their food. I recommend the General Chow's and the Kung...
Read moreWe used to dine here for years and it was excellent. Today we stopped in after not being here for about 4 years. The first thing you saw was all the clutter (Xmas decorations and leftover plastic plants on tables). The “Open” sign wasn’t even on. When we walked in, no one was there ordering or eating which surprised us (this place was always busy). We ordered a #13 combo (chicken/beef teriyaki) and a #16 combo (spicy beef and pork). We waited, and waited and waited…(at least 30 minutes or more and this is teriyaki folks…)other people came in to get their to go orders and some were even cussing when they left as the owner/hostess had told them 25 minutes and it was more than 40 minutes but the owner blamed the customer for showing up a few minutes late because the customer’s order wasn’t done so she was kept waiting. We used to spend about $10 per meal here and it was always great with all the complimentary sauces and great service. Our meals were almost $20 each. My husband’s meal was okay but lacking any additional sauces that he always had there. My chicken and beef combo was lukewarm/cold. We were the 1st people in the restaurant to dine in at around 3:15 pm. I didn’t eat much of mine as I didn’t want to get sick from cold chicken/beef. I went up to ask for a box so I could take it home and heat it up. The owner noticed I hadn’t eaten any of it and asked why. I told her it was luke warm/cold. Rather than trying to fix the issue she started making excuses like, “our plates aren’t warm” and “we have other orders (we were dining in so there was no excuse). Then she did the ultimate: she said to me: “no one had ever told us this before, you are the only one.” What a lie! She did nothing to make the situation right and instead made excuses and insulted a long time customer. She never offered an apology or tried to right the situation but instead blamed the cold plates and the customer. Does she not understand that cold/lukewarm chicken/beef can make people sick? Will never go back there again. This was a place we always went to for years and years. They now do not care about their customers and the place isn’t even clean anymore. They need to shut down if they are not interested in providing good food, service and safety to...
