Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Maumee

My boyfriend and I went there last night (9/13). We were so incredibly disappointed with our entire experience. Normally neither one of us are the kind to leave a bad review, but this was just exceptionally bad service. Our server was incredibly slow, and really had no excuse to be. I believe her name was Candace, but not positive because she didn’t even introduce herself to us. It was the host that told us her name prior to her “greeting us”. It was clear she had a bad attitude and we honestly probably should have left at that moment. We ended up staying though because we were looking forward to their food, our mistake. I asked for a burger to cooked medium, expecting it to have pink, right ? That burger came out so unbelievably dry neither one of us would even eat it. We took a bite each and that was it. To top it off, we found a hair in our food that was apparent was neither one of ours. We were going to tell our server, but we had to wait at least 15 minutes for her to come back around. Our drinks were empty for the longest time so we didn’t even have anything to wash down that dry burger. When she FINALLY came around, she asked if we needed any boxes. I said verbatim, “actually we found a hair in our food.” Then she coldly says, “okay”. I replied a little more sharp because she clearly didn’t care, “no we definitely won’t be needing boxes for any of this food”. At this point she chuckled ever so slightly and said “okay”. It was quite clear she couldn’t care any less about us. We were not trying to get anything free or anything remotely like that. All she had to do was show a little sympathy and apologize and we would have been okay. I can’t believe she actually chuckled at us. At this moment she walked away, we assumed to grab our bill because she didn’t say anything to us when she walked away. She just walked away. We waited another 10-15 minutes to get our bill. We saw her laughing loudly with her co-workers in the back while we waited for her to take care of us so we can just end this horrible experience. It’s nice to see she actually had some sort of friendly personality, unfortunate we didn’t get to experience it. When she finally dropped off our bill after we paid with cash she never said have a good night or anything at all matter of fact. She was just rude the entire time.

We don’t blame her for the bad food, but the terrible service is what really disappointed us. If we had terrible food, but great service we wouldn’t have even thought twice about it.

We will not being going back anytime soon. Bad food topped off with even worse service....

Waited forever for our food. I ordered a drink and didn't receive it within what I find to be acceptable timing at all. I was able to go up to the bar which was busier then our waitress by far and order a few round of drinks for me and my siblings twice before it cane. When I did receive it I asked our waitress is there alcohol in this, to which she replied "um I think? So? It's supposed to have alcohol in it right?"🤦🏻‍♀️ I understand being busy I waited tables for years at frickers which gets absolutely hectic but as I could tell she had very few tables to attend there were maybe 4 tables all together on the whole left side of the restaurant we were on. . Then by the time our food arrived it was cold, and at this point I just wanted my check to leave....but there again was a issue. She had a very difficult time separate the bills from our table which we described to her at the start and even sat next to each person where the bills were connected. The service was so terrible. I have no clue if she was new or just having a bad day but it was very clear she was struggling and again I'm unsure as to why non of her fellow staff came to help her. At any rate I'll never attended this location again. I love Applebee's but this was my first time at this location and me not my family will be going back...

Went on a Sunday, had 3 kids (little ones). There were only 3 tables actually seated in the ENTIRE RESTAURANT!!!!! They told me it would be a 30-45min wait! I asked if we could just sit down at a table while we waited so our kids could play on that table tablet, We wouldn't even order food or drink but just so our kids aren’t cooped up in the car. He said absolutely not, you need to wait in your car, you have 4 other parties ahead of you waiting in their cars waiting. I asked again just to sit down somewhere just in the corner away from everyone until our turn. Manager said absolutely not. Okay, so as I was walking outside to my car to LEAVE, there were 5 cars (including mine!) in the parking lot, so doing the math if those already 3 seated tables didn’t walk there (doubt it.) the math didn’t add up! Also, I drove around and only 1 car had 2 people in it, every other car was EMPTY! They didn't even feel the need to check the parking lot to see if their guest had actually stayed!

So we went to the Mexican restaurant next door, got great food, service, & was seated right away! (I also believe those other “parties” were there too! Will not be returning to...
