Haven't visited in some time, not for any real reason, just haven't. Food's pretty much the same, no losses nor improvements. The execution and service however, were way off, the waitress apologized explaining it was a crazy day. Probably right, but from my vantage point, didn't seem to need to be. The staff all seemed to be going about things with no organization, purpose or direction, even the lead/supervisor/owner (not sure what the title is) appeared lost and bouncing around from task to task, pointing and gesturing in uncertainty. Was approached by three waitstaff before one decided she'd be our waitress. Was asked four times if I wanted more coffee, and yet my cup remained empty, in all fairness my cup was refilled once, but only after she was flagged down as she was about to fly by. The final time asked, I said, no and requested the check, waited quite awhile as well before I got it. As to the food, well, eggs benedict should be served as soon as it is completed, can't sit in a window waiting to go out, otherwise you get this - one egg cool and yoke flowing (should be flowing and warm) the other egg - hard yoke, could've been mistaken for a hardboiled egg, the hollandaise sauce cold and beginning to lump up. For the other plate, pretty basic, scrambled eggs, meat, potatoes, toast - oh wait no toast. Meal was fine, did sit in the window longer that it should have but ok nonetheless, but the toast, well even after being promised a quick return with it, arrived once the majority of the meal was already eaten and obviously buttered after it had cooled, so yes cold and solid. The worst part of the meal had little to do with the meal itself. It was the table next to us, the gentleman would yell across the restaurant to members of the staff. He later walked into the kitchen for a minute returning to his table only to have members of the staff stopping by for extended chats while leaving the patrons stranded, led me to assume him to be associated with the restaurants somehow, yet not on duty. If so, why wouldn't he jump in and lend a hand or some need directions instead putting on such an embarrassing display of yelling across a restaurant and chatting with staff while patron's go unattended, even if he was there as a customer. If you can yell across a room at staff, surely you could lend a hand (or mouth - that obviously works) until things level out for those who are on duty. All in all, I hope it was just an off day and not a trend. Me, however, I will probably go back to preparing my own breakfasts, more work, but...
Read moreMy family of 4 and I went to eat dinner here on Central Ave tonight. My husband and I have been here a few times and I grew up going to the one that used to be in Perrysburg. When we were almost done eating, I looked down as I started to gather things and saw a bug on my son’s burp cloth (that was on the booth seat next to me, not on him). I picked it up with a napkin and looked closer. It was 100% a BEDBUG. I had to ask for the manager after no one came out to talk to us, after we had said something to our waitress. He had no idea what we were talking about. At this point we are up by the front door trying to explain to him. We had already paid our bill, but bed bugs are a serious problem. He was clueless. While we are talking to him, a waitress with dyed red short hair told us we left some things in our booth (we did on purpose due to the bedbug and not taking chances by brining those items home). We told her they were staying. She went back and forth with us for 2 minutes that WE NEED TO GO GET OUR ITEMS. My husband finally told her we weren’t taking anymore bedbugs home with us and she had walked away. As she walked away, she whipped around and told us “we probably brought those here with us”. !!! Are you kidding me?! Her name is supposedly Mary-Ann. I then witnessed this gentleman that we were talking to, take the napkin that had the bedbug, that I said I was not taking home, throw the napkin WITH THE BEDBUG STILL ALIVE IN THE OPEN TRASHCAN HALF FALLING OUT. I will be contacting the health...
Read moreSlow service, the waitresses seemed preoccupied. The mushroom swiss burger I ordered did not even taste like it had been seasoned in any way. Just burger that they grilled up with no flavor. The cheese and the mushrooms were OK but I had to salt the thing before I could even eat it. The "greek" fries I ordered were so burnt/crunchy that I couldn't even really eat them. It's like they doused them in feta and oregano hoping I wouldn't notice the crappy fries. They were WAY overcooked. I asked for onion on my burger and I did not get it. The gyro my husband ordered was falling apart, the pita type bread they wrap it in is so dang thin, it rips just picking it up. I've ordered one of those before, too. I've been here about 4-5 times now with coworkers, and most recently with my husband...and NONE of the tables are cleaned off for new customers to sit down. Every single time I come in, I have to wait for them to wipe down my table. Not kidding. This most recent time there were so many dirty tables, my husband had to wait almost 10 minutes for a booth that was clean! And they were not packed at all! Then the waitress forgot everything we asked her for and had to go back 10x. I probably won't pick this...
