They repeatedly miss things on delivery orders. This has occurred both at my work and my home. It has ONLY been THE MAUMEE LOCATION.
I order both via the APP and Door Dash and lots of times I have just took the loss. A rare missed item or two is not a big deal. However, missing items have became routine instead of rare and now it's about principal-- especially given TS's new claim.
The latest shortage was the 2 sides (chips). When I called and reported it I was told "the Door Dash drivers keep stealing the food." Seriously? A DD driver is going to risk his job for a bag of chips? Not just one driver but several drivers on several different deliveries are supposedly stealing our sides? Seriously???
The young lady claimed they now check all bags with the DD driver to make sure everything is in it before the driver can take it. She told me the Door Dash Driver stole my food and I had to "go thru Door Dash."
The problem with that is when ordering thru the Tropical Smoothie app, TROPICAL SMOOTHIE sets up the delivery. That means there is not any way to "go thru Door Dash." When I called back to tell them this the young lady on the phone very loudly, very rudely, and quickly said "Well we'll just put it through then!" She then hung up on me about 5 words into my follow up question. I called back several times between 9:14 and 10: 30 but they just let it ring.
Again, this repeated missing item issue is ONLY happening with the Maumee location. It's also not happening with any of the several other restaurants I order at using Door Dash. The fact is it's never been the same DD driver bringing my items but it HAS been the SAME restaurant. To me, that supports the employees are the ones screwing up the order and not wanting to take responsibility. But, they would rather push the idea 10+ drivers would risk their jobs just to steal cheap bags of chips or $1 flavor straws than to admit...
Read moreThis place is so hit or miss anymore. Kept getting clumpy smoothies so reached out letting the manager know I thought something was wrong as that never happened before. She apologized and comped me one. Husband went to get it a few weeks later, they left out the cappuccino. I just tossed it. Whatever. At that point it felt like defeat and I wasn't trying trying to be a Karen, but this was literally the 5th smoothie in a row with an issue, whereas previously it has always been perfect! Years of consistency being tossed out the window.
Next time I went, everything was perfect again. It was exactly how it should be and finally hit that craving.
Today they ignored us while we stood at the counter, acted annoyed to take our order, rushed, (therefore ringing it in wrong,) and then tried making me take the mango magic they made when I ordered the mocha madness. At that point I look at the receipt and see i was charged for added Splenda, when it should have been a substitute. I didn't say anything at this point except tell the kid again that I was not drinking a mango smoothie. He did bring me the correct one eventually and was very nice...
Read moreI ordered ahead on the app for easy & fast pickup. I went there at the time it said it would be ready...and I only see my smoothie on the to go stand not my flatbread & chips. So I waited (per the sign posted above) that it could come out separately. And mind you I was not greeted at all by any of the 3 employees talking to eachother while I was just waiting with my smoothie. And nobody else was in there but I see an employee bring more to go orders out but I still didn't see mine. So finally after waiting I finally had to ask an employee if I missed my order because I don't see it. She looks around & finally finds it under the counter?!?! I was so shocked I had no words. I was waiting there inside for my to go order that was ready this whole time but was not put in the correct to go location with my smoothie. I have no idea why or how it ended up where it did & the employee didn't seem bothered by it at all. Never even apologized!!! I will not be back to this location at all.
