My hansband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Restaurante Azteca, a vibrant Mexican restaurant located in the heart of South Beach. From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported to Mexico, with the lively atmosphere, authentic décor, and the tantalizing aroma of freshly made Mexican cuisine filling the air.
Azteca offers a wide variety of traditional Mexican dishes, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We started our meal with guacamole and chips, which were some of the best we've ever had. The guacamole was perfectly seasoned, with a hint of lime and cilantro, and the chips were crispy and flavorful.
For our main course, I had the enchiladas verdes, which were stuffed with tender chicken and covered in a rich, savory green sauce. My hasband had the carnitas, which were slow-cooked pork that was so tender it practically fell apart with the touch of a fork. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and we couldn't stop raving about them.
To complement our meal, we enjoyed a couple of margaritas, which were made with fresh lime juice and top-shelf tequila. The margaritas were the perfect balance of sweet and sour, and they went down smoothly.
Azteca also offers live music, which added to the festive atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be there on a night when a mariachi band was playing, and their lively music really set the mood.
The service at Azteca was also top-notch. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, and he made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to answer all of our questions.
Overall, our experience at Restaurante Azteca was nothing short of exceptional. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, the service was excellent, and the live music was a bonus. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience in...
Read moreAzteca was a truly positive experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there during Happy Hour. The cocktails were excellent—expertly crafted, flavorful, and offered at very reasonable prices. The lively music and the vibrant atmosphere added to the charm, making it a perfect spot to unwind and have a good time.
While enjoying our drinks, we also indulged in some nachos with guacamole, both of which were absolutely delicious. The guacamole was fresh and flavorful, and the nachos were perfectly crisp, complementing the cocktails beautifully. The quality of the food and the attention to detail in presentation were impressive.
What really stood out at Azteca was the overall experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a well-thought-out decor that creates a balance between a festive vibe and a relaxed environment. The music was excellent—uplifting without being overwhelming, which made it easy to enjoy conversations while still feeling immersed in the lively setting.
The bartenders demonstrated great skill and creativity, ensuring that each cocktail was made to perfection. The service was flawless, with staff members who were attentive, friendly, and efficient. Their professionalism and welcoming attitude added a special touch to the experience, making us feel well taken care of.

Read moreAbsolutely terrible experience. The staff was very inattentive — we were one of the only people in there and had to ask our waitress 3 times for the bill before she brought it. When we asked for water, we were shocked to find a $10 charge on the bill. Ten dollars. For water. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the chips and salsa came in a portion so insultingly small it felt like a joke. We had two people at our table and were given a portion that would barely be enough for one. The chips were warm and tasted fresh (all 8 chips that came in the bowl) but the salsa tasted like it came out of a jar and wasn't fresh at all. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values its customers.
EDIT: In response to the response, while the chips is under the "small plates" section of the menu, chips and salsa are usually a pretty standard size and the portion served was less than half of what I would expect. Many times chips and salsa are complimentary so especially when I have to specifically order it. Also, the waitress did not ask "still, sparkling, or tap" she simply said "still or sparking" and this was our first time in Miami so usually when we ask for water where we are from they just bring a glass of water. After the bottle was brought out we were surprised by this and checked the menu and the water prices are not listed. Check now, they still...
