I really enjoyed Saffron! Here’s my positives and negatives about the restaurant :)
POSITIVES Very central location in south beach - walking distance from all the clubs/party scene and was very close to where myself and husband were staying so very convenient Food was brought out super fast! We came on a Wednesday at around 10.30 PM and our food was brought out PIPING hot, and fresh within 10 minutes of us ordering No wait for us as I’m guessing most people are at the clubs while we came to eat Decent portion sizes (see photo) Just a good old fashioned no frills restaurant Service was a-okay we ordered the chicken kebab entree and the mezze sampler and it was perfect for myself and my husband it’s halal for all my Muslim friends! But they do serve alcohol so if that’s something you care about just be aware - it’s Miami ofc :)
NEGATIVES While there was nothing bad about the service, there was nothing exceptional about it either - our waitress asked us what we’d like, served it to us, checked in twice and then brought the bill. If you’re looking for upscale service - then maybe tailor your expectations (we didn’t care but I know some people might) the chicken kebab was DELISH - however I was left wanting more! I wish there was a bit more on the plate
Conclusion: all in all, really liked saffron for a quick bite - will come back to try...
Read moreAnother review saying probably the best I've tasted from my area in Maryland. Cooked just the way I asked for it. I ordered the mixed platter (lamb chop, lamb and chicken kabob, salad and rice. Honestly salads I usually get from other kabob restaurants being Mediterranean or from the middle east are with watered down restaurants. Salad here from, first bite, you can taste a big difference. I asked for the lamb chop to be cooked medium rare, cooked less pink then I like, but did not take away from the flavor and juices from the meat. Both lamb and chicken kabob were not dry at all and so flavorful. The rice topped it all off. The sauce was not watered down and did not seem slimy like some other restaurants if had. You could tell that the yogurt and spices used weren't old, like a cup of sauce left in the fridge. I also forgot my dish came with gyro meat. The cut I had was kind of on the overcooked side because I noticed I was the one to order from the gyro meat rotary slice in a while. Besides that the meat wasn't dry at all and was still very good. Aside from those good compliments. Great service. AC needs to be fixed because of the not great seal of the building, ac is...
Read morei got food poisoning from this place 2 months ago, i am turkish and obviously very used to turkish food. i got the sarma and i had to go to a hospital and they told me that i got food poisoning. when my friend went back to this place to tell them that in the morning, the lady behind the counter said “i don’t understand why you’re telling me this”. it was obviously canned sarma, i even can tell you the brand of it. Tamek. so please stop serving food that went bad, dont play with people’s health and not ruin other people’s vacations. don’t go to this place.
UPDATE ON MY REVIEW youre telling me that i wont get poisoned through rice?? how dare you as a business owner can say that? i have the hospital papers and documents. i also told you that I KNOW that i got POSIONED through a canned food. so you agree with me on this (you just wrote that the only thing you buy outside is that sarma and im telling you i got poisoned because of that specific item because that was the only item i purchased from you). this is unprofessional and highly unacceptable. you should be apologizing instead of...
