We had high expectations from this bar and unfortunately it underdelivered.
Positives: good location (even though in a bit weird hotel/restaurant but it’s fine), great vibes if you’re deaf and nice services.
Negatives. First, the whole speakeasy concept is completely ruined with loud and BAD music. Who on earth is putting up this techno/housy tracks that completely mismatch great vibes of the bar? I captured even not this bad song, overall track after track it was getting worse. This bar would have been just great, if they turned down volume a bit and put something more chill. Up-tempo for such place is a crime.
Cocktails that we ordered were not good. Might have been a bad guess from our side but overall they were not balanced well and tasted straight like alcohol without any nuances. We asked a server to replace them, after some chat and remarks that those are just strong for us and they’re supposed to be like this (?), we got new ones and they were better. Regardless, I’d love to say that service is good and they really made an effort, helped us with our cocktails and made sure everything was alright, props to them.
I still really hope that this place can live up to its potential. During hanging out we found out how much alcohol licenses in Miami cost and that’s why it’s even more valuable to have some nice bars without sport blasting, loud music and weird vibes. It’s interesting also since we got by the end a postcard about the bar being owned by bartenders, so I hope they spend some time at their bar to check it...
Read moreWhat an amazing place. I can't just say it's an amazing cocktail bar because it's so much more then that. AN ABSOLUTE MUST VISIT!!
I recently had a visit to Miami for a cocktail conference. I visited a few local spots, a few higher end cocktail lounges and everything in-between. This was the best experience I had in Miami!
From the moment I was greeted at the door all the way through. There wasn't any room inside the main bar area but they were able to serve me at a table just near the door. Every interaction was pleasant and made me feel welcomed.
They moved me to the bar just as my wings were coming out, I think they were the best wings I've ever had. They have a few options so my combo, which was recommended by the team working was Jerk Rub, with hot honey dipping sauce.
The cocktails were creative, explorative, and absolutely delicious. I recommended the Sip, bite, sip, which is a deconstructed Piña Colada.
My bartender as absolutely the most nice and professional bartender I experienced on my trip. We had started talking shop and I started to have a suspicion he might be the owner. I found out he was in fact the bar owner.
The aesthetic of the bar is beautiful! I can't describe it well enough so you should go check it out.
As a working professional in the hospitality industry as a craft cocktail mixologist I give this place a 12/10 and highly recommend adding it to you Miami can...
Read moreI ordered a deconstructed pina colada from this bar. The bar is located downstairs below another bar. Please don't bother wasting your time or money at the upstairs bar. The atmosphere at Swizzle Rum Bar is super chill and laid back. Cozy, dark space to relax. Not a lot of seating, but this cannot be missed. You have to go. Anyway, back to the drink that I ordered. From reading reviews, this is how I found out about the deconstructed pina colada, because I didn't see it on the drink menu. I'm still dreaming about my drink, almost a month post-vacation. 🤣😂 This deconstructed pina colada is everything!! OMG. The goat cheese sauce (?) that comes on the side with the pina colada takes this drink to a whole new level. The goat cheese is sweet. This is a nice sized drink. The liquor weaves in seamlessly. My bartender gave me directions on how to drink this pina colada: take a sip of your drink, dip your tongue into the goat cheese and then take another sip of your drink and enjoy!! I need to go back to Miami just to order another one!! I ran out of goat cheese before I could finish my drink, so I asked for another serving and my bartender brought me more. If you don’t see this on the drink menu, ask your bartender about it. You won't be...
