For starters I consider myself an unbiased & fair reviewer. Thereâs more to a great cafe/restaurant than good food. Customer service should be a at the forefront of your priorities when it comes to providing service to all patrons who are present in your establishment. I decided to check this place out not only because a friend of mine had coffee here and recommended it to me, but also because their sponsored ads kept coming up on my instagram feed. Upon arrival the place was totally empty which is actually surprising for any new coffee spot in Miami. There was absolutely no one available for several minutes (a huge no no) which was perplexing to me. One would think that on a slow rainy day the employee/employees would not only be eager but readily available to engage anyone who walks through the door. I was finally greeted and decided to place an order for the Black eye coffee along with the blueberry cheesecake. I sat down and was served my order with no cutlery? LOL I figured since I wasnât given a fork then there mustâve been an area where you can help yourself to one?? Definitely not. I finally got my fork and was able to eat the cheesecake which I will be fair and say it was so good you wouldnât believe it wasnât made with zero dairy. The coffee was subpar Iâve had way better at Miam Cafe in Wynwood just a few minutes down the street. Now bare in mind that this entire time itâs raining outside and thereâs no one else in the cafe besides the employee and myself. I decided to spark a conversation by asking the employee how long have they been open? While also letting him know it was my first time and that I was a local from around the area. The employee wasnât engaging at all which surprised me because usually when I have first timers come into my establishment I immediately give them a full rundown of the business and what we offer. But then again who am I to expect new businesses to want to thrive and succeed by creating a great experience that will make first time visitors want to come back? After about 20 minutes a group of girls walked in and all of a sudden the employees demeanor shifted into a more energetic and welcoming attitude. The young ladies mentioned being first timer visitors and immediately placed their orders. To make a long story short, he (the employee) was so helpful to this particular group of young ladies. He checked in on them, asked them if they needed anything and asked them how was their food. He then proceeded to ask if they liked iced cream and of course they said yes. He then told them that the hideout will be hosting an ice cream party and that he would love to invite them. One of the young ladies told him she wouldnât be able to make it and then she asked if he had any samples to try. He then replied to her âIâm actually making a fresh batch right now for you guysâ and of course, just like anyone else, they were flattered at his generosity and thoughtfulness. He served them free iced cream and then told them the rest will be in the fridge freezing so that when they get ready to leave they can take it to go for them to share. Iâm assuming you have to be female to get this type of service here? The interesting part is that most businesses rely on other successful business (especially local ones) to pass on good reviews through word of mouth. I would never recommend any of my clients from Brickell or Wynwood to go out of their way to look for this place. Iâm not exactly sure why this place is so highly rated but then again they only have 21 reviews with the majority of them being...

I had a great experience @Hideout and my host was Shatik. Shatik was very engaging (to the point I definitely plan to pop in for some good food and hope to politic about business, geography and culture with him again!) and yet extremely cognizant of the fact I made mention I was visiting on a quick break from work. Shatik held ongoing dialogue with me inclusive of recommendations to capture my preferences to ensure the end result was exactly to my liking and it was: smoothie w/ tamarind, avocado toast with hard boiled egg and a what looks like their take on a compost cookie! While Shatique was away preparing my meal I did a quick but thorough scan to see the ingredients that were going into my food. All quality ingredients unlike many businesses in So Florida that promote health yet stock peanut butter and other condiments chockfull of sugar and preservations. Shatik also demonstrated that Hideout walks the walk by asking me if I wanted a bag and if so, which size. I was shocked. Most businesses in So Florida try to overload me with bags and are sincerely shocked when I place certain items in my designer handbag rather than taking a bag. I mean we could all selfishly save ourselves and become healthier but there not be a world left for us to live in. Go figure. Shatik also gifted me with a stainless steel straw which I thought was mad cool because as much as I want to save the planet and all, I truly DETEST paper straws! Ewh! LOL
Shatik, I've reused your gift repeatedly in my at-home Dr. Sebi inspired smoothies. I'll have to bring you a taste of one one of these days as...
Read moreThe environment here is so comfortable and friendly. There are messages everywhere encouraging you to be happy and be yourself, so that eases any nervousness one might have upon arrival. There is so much greenery and matching decor that just flat out looks cool, so spending your time inside or out never feels boring. There are also games and jigsaw puzzles to indulge in, so spending extra time there isn't out of the question. The customer service was wonderful. I got my food quickly and without any hassle. Watching the employees interact with regulars made me smile, as they seem to really enjoy working here. Lastly, the food. I got a cold brewed iced coffee ($6), and an egg-ocado toast ($14). I believe they were worth the price. The coffee had a good flavor and the egg-ocado toast was the best avocado toast I think I have ever or will ever eat in my life. I absolutely recommend it. Visiting Miami from Minnesota, I think this is a great stop for breakfast for any tourist. Not too...
