Our lunch at Palo Quemao in Miami was truly outstanding. The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a lively and warm ambiance that immediately made us feel at home. The rustic yet modern decor added to the cozy charm of the place.
The service was top-notch. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations. We started with the empanadas, which were delightfully crispy on the outside and filled with savory, flavorful ingredients. For the main course, I chose the bandeja paisa, a traditional Colombian dish. It was a generous portion, with each element - the juicy chorizo, tender beef, and perfectly fried egg - cooked to perfection.
My dining companion ordered Pechuga a la parrilla which did not disappoint. The rice was beautifully seasoned, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. We also enjoyed a side of patacones, which were perfectly crispy and delicious.
To end our meal, we shared a tres leches cake. It was light, moist, and wonderfully balanced in sweetness and creaminess.

Read moreI went here with my wife and her family. Honestly, I can't complain about the food, all of us enjoyed everything we ate. What did bother me was the service and how sneaky the waitress tried to be. We were five adults and one child and she decided to try and add the 18% service fee for herself to get a better tip. But before showing any of us our receipts, she told us we needed to tip her first to get the total, which we all did because she did a decent job. All of the sudden my $10 tip was really $17, as well as the other two checks at the table. To be blunt, she was lying and being a thief. If you go here, make sure to get a printed copy of the bill before paying so you can see what the real total is, the only reason this waitress does that is because she obviously gets away with it. Also, when we confronted the manager about the situation, he and the waitress made it a big deal and it caused a huge scene. The waitress didn't even want to apologize for being a liar. So in conclusion, food is good, customer service is terrible. Will never...
Read moreI’ve been going to Palo Quemado for many years because I live nearby, but last Sunday I had a really unpleasant experience at the Biscayne location one I still don’t understand. For now, I won’t be going back to that location.
I’m not sure if the staff just didn’t feel like working, but first they told us there was a 30-minute wait. We said we were happy to wait, but they insisted we must go to their other location. We explained—very politely—that we were coming from near downtown and specifically wanted to eat at this location.
The staff members seemed new (I had never seen them before), and they kept insisting we leave. It became clear that it wasn’t really about the wait time they simply didn’t want us to eat there.
It was honestly a very disappointing moment. We came from far away just to eat at this place, and we were met with people who clearly didn’t want to do their job. This happened on Sunday, July 6th 2025,...
