I used to love ordering pizza from Ian's every time I go out in Milwaukee with friends because the pizza is delicious. However, this last time I ordered with a friend, it was only 2 of us, we got a medium pizza that we added pepperoni, bacon, sausage, onion, garlic, and tomato ( costing 40 bucks but hey we love good food) . They called to confirm the order, and let me know that they were out of one of the ingredients we asked for, no big deal, they offered to give me a discount or a coupon but it was a minor piece and I told them not to worry about it.
We ordered at 1:19 am, and the ordering app I used told me it would be 2:20 to 2:30 that they would be dropping off. I get it, its busy especially on a Saturday night. 2:30 rolls around, no call to say they were running behind. 2:40 rolls around, still no pizza. Finally, 2:45, I was about to call when the delivery guy calls and said he was about to be there. YAY!! Pumped for the pizza we did the hand off and I ran back to our apt. Once there, I opened our pizza, it was only Pepperoni and it was cold. Im sorry, but I am not paying 40 dollars for a pepperoni pizza, so I called and let them know about the mix up, they said they would be making us a new pizza and send it asap. My friend asked if we could get a discount or a coupon because its a bit ridiculous that we had to wait an hour and a half for a pizza we didn't order and then another half our or more for our correct pizza, and they offered to do so earlier since they didnt have one of the ingredient so we didnt think it was going to be a big deal. The guy on the phone was obviously frazzled, and would pause while talking to us, then put us on hold without warning, then pick up the phone again, and then put us on hold. Then he said that he could not give us a discount or coupon for future purchase because of the app I used to order, and that they are sending us a bigger pizza.
We never asked for a bigger pizza, it was only two of us and we already had the pepperoni that we didnt order so why would we want a bigger pizza. I dont understand how at first they could give us compensation for a minor problem but not for a bigger problem, and putting us on hold without warning and going back and forth between silence and short answers when we asked questions was pretty bad costumer service. Now we have a medium and an extra large pizza, which we ate 1/4 of and will probably throw out most of because it will go bad before we will finish it. Will not be...
Read moreAlright so I have very mixed feelings about Ian’s and it holds true for every location in the Milwaukee area. I’ve had Ian’s dozens of times. Delivery, pickup, and in store dining. I’ll focus on the pizza first. The pizza is good. They have the best variety and the best vegetarian/vegan options. You’ll like their classic pizza such as their SHMO (my personal favorite) or a sausage and pepperoni. Things can go wrong when you start venturing into their wild flavors. For example the Mac n Cheese pizza is wonderful. It’s not what I would think of when ordering pizza but they pulled it off. However I am not a fan of the brisket and tots. It seems more of a gimmicky kind of menu item to get you interested rather than something you would actually want as a pizza. My recommendation is to be careful when looking at their more crazy, gimmicky options. You’ll love it or hate it with nothing in between. Now to the service. I’ll just saying the best way to get decent service is to dine in by the slice. Other than that you’ll be disappointed. Let me explain. I’ve gotten delivery numerous times because friends that come to the city and family always want Ian’s which I have no problem with. Every single time I have to double check with all of them and say “I’m cool with Ian’s but it won’t be delivered for at least 2 hours.” I can’t stress to you how long it takes for any Ian’s location to deliver your pizza. I know they can be busy so I always ask and without a doubt they always say 45 minutes to an hour. But I know better by now and always have to prepare myself and anyone with me to wait 2 hours for delivery. And in my experience the same holds true for pick up. They tell you it’ll be ready in an hour and then you end up sitting at the restaurant for half an hour because it’s not actually ready in an hour. Dine in is always the way to go to get decent service from Ian’s. Also I’ll quickly point out that you should prepare your own pizza cutter if you get delivery or pick up because they can’t seem to cut their pizza all the way, if at all.
So I’ll give Ian’s 3 stars. Their classic pizzas are done well but the crazy ones can be a little to gimmicky and not that great. If you’re within walking distance of an Ian’s pizza to get it by the slice I would recommend stopping in and enjoying a slice. Skip the delivery and pickup because with their high prices it’s not worth...
Read moreIan's has good pizza I give them that. Slices are huge food quality is good. Problem is customer service sucks. The last time I went to pick up my pizza I felt the service was so bad I had to say something. Im not the type to just snap at people for no reason I am very reasonable and patient. But when I visited obviously the doorbell rang as it always does to let the people who work there know hey a customer just stepped in. A man who could possibly be on his break, (cobalt blue shirt) was trying to get a pizza slice from behind the counter looked at me from behind the counter but did not say a word to me and went right back to what he was doing like I was invisible. Looked up at me again I said hi he continued to Ignore me while everyone was busy tending to their own orders at the kitchen counter preparing other people's orders. I would have to say there were about 8 of them at the store at the time not one of them greeted me as I stood at the register waiting to be attended to for at least a good 5 minutes. Then 2 college boys came in walked past behind me stood in front of the glass case for no more than a few seconds. The lady (green shirt with glasses) who was busy with her pizza prep turned around and started taking their orders and I was just like ok... I waited for her to take their order did not want to interrupt when she slid right to the register I finally had to say something. Told her I've been standing there this whole time nobody said a word to me. No greetings no welcome to Ian's. So she finally asked for my order DID NOT Apologize at that point everyone turned around to look at me and I wanted to say oh now you finally see me! I just wanted to get out of there I'm not rude like they are so I looked her in the eye to make sure she's actually listening said thank you after she handed me my pizza. And she said nothing. WOW! It's been about a year since the last time I was there but I remember it being a much friendlier place I don't think...
