Very disappointed. Only one star for waitress who help us with the big group. Don’t order the drinks and food. I order BLT salad and got rare frozen chicken On my salad I also ordered mozzarella cheese sticks but they were hard and cold inside. I showed my friend next to me my chicken so she called rather way the waitress and she said quiet to her that the chicken is frozen and is rare. I guess the guy who came to my table was a manager and he said kind in the rude way.” Miss I know you order the salad but we grilled the chicken and then microwaved” He offered make me another one but I was more disappointed. I could tell the chicken was microwave and any other foot was microwave to. My daughter ordered Cheeseburger with the fries and they missed her fries. Or if you wanna order the drink just stay with beer or a shot because the mixed drink are mistakes. They don’t know what is sweet-and-sour mix so they used Sundrop soda tasted like a sprite instead. I asked For amaretto stone sour and I received amaretto sprite. Amaretto stone sour is mix of amaretto sweet-and-sour and orange juice. I was so embarrassed to ask the waitresses to make me another drink and then she said it’s not a problem. She came with another drink same with soda and a splash of orange juice on the top. So I gave up on this drink I went to the bar and asked for Tito‘s cranberry the juice was far away from cranberry is like soda from the gun serving in the cheapest plastic cup. The young bartender was nice. The bar looked cool inside but the service and food no good. The only One star is for the young blonde waitress because she must handle us like a big group. She was nice. The quality of the food is so bad. The guy who came to my table and explained that they microwaved the chicken he told me “ miss we can remove the salad from your bill” but not even apologized and he made me think like was my foult.I work in this business from 19 years and I know mistakes are mistakes and happened but the way how he said?! I felt so guilty and embarrassed that I called them and told them the chicken is rare and frozen. I felt like it was my mistake. So for sure we never back there. For all next day I was thinking what if I’m gonna be sick after the first bite. So big...

I Originally wrote this review 7 Years Ago & gave them 5 Stars. That has changed since then to 3 Stars. There is good & bad about this place. Major Goolsby's has the best Hot Wings that I have ever had. Their Cheese Burgers are awsome too. At least they use to be.

Update as of March 09, 2019

I use to go to Major Goolsby's at The Wisconsin State Fair every Year since 1998. Over the Years the prices at Major Goolsby's location there have ridiculously gone up. You use to be ably to get a 1 Lb. bucket of Hot Wings there for $ 7.00 & a Bacon Cheese Burger for $ 7.00. Both prices have gone up since then. Last Year was my last Year eating at their State Fair location because they jacked up the prices over the Years. Last Year it cost us at least $ 13.00 for a 1 Lb. bucket of Wings, around at least $ 11.00 for a Bacon Cheese Burger, at least $ 3.00 for a bottle of soda. That is $ 27.00 per person. Multiple that by 4 people in our party. It is absolutely ridiculous. I Love their food. Don't get me wrong but the prices are ridiculous now. I won't eat at their State Fair location anymore. My only regret is that I did not know that The Wisconsin Cattleman's Association in The Wisconsin Products Pavilion have Buffalo burger there for $ 5.00 each. If I would have know that, I would have went there first. I am going to the The Wisconsin Cattleman's Association for food next Year at The...

Last night (Sat night), my daughter & I get out of the hockey game among thousands from the arena while the college basketball game at the F.F had also let out. We first walk in to Major Goolsbys & I was thinking "It will be the same old situation with these new times of age; having to wait for a table, then wait much longer to get service, especially with two major games nearby just letting out.", gee was I mistaken! There were still several tables available in your bar which has a high capacity & already had many attendees. We take one, within a minute a server (shorter young blonde whose hair was frizzied & in a tail ending at her upper back, said she went to UWM, I should've gotten her name but I gave her a generous tip) calmly & nicely came right up to us and took a drink order, then came right back with the drinks we had ordered, got our food order which we didnt have to wait long for it to be prepared at all (your hamburger & onions rings were delicious btw). The place was rockin'. I commend the entire staff for running a efficient bar & grill that has been a Milwaukee institution! You guys & "Someplace Else" on Water St. which burned down in the late 80's set the standard for Milwaukee's places to go to for drinks & bar food in which other establishments merely...

Major Goolsby's is one of the original sports bars in America. It opened in 1970, and as recently as 2005, Sports Illustrated listed their top 25 sports bars in the nation and Major Goolsby's was listed at 4. It's one of those places in Milwaukee that you have to check out if you're a sports fan. It's kind of a something-for-everyone kind of place with all kinds of Milwaukee sports memorabilia all over the bar. Great service, easy access from Bucks and Admirals games since it's right across the street from both arenas, and it just works for groups of friends and families alike. Wall-to-wall TVs, they'll make sure whatever game you want to watch on. Solid sports bar fare. Can't go wrong with Major Goolsby's.

Met a group of friends before a basketball game. Wasn't crowded when we got there, but became crowded. Our server was great, but became stretched thin and we had to wait for refills and the bill. Fun atmosphere, lots of TVs, lots of sports memorabilia. I had a Cajun chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken seemed like it was cooked and then a Cajun sauce was out on it, a little spicy but very average. I should have tried a world famous burger, others said it was very good. Fries again not bad but not great. One of the kids had chicken wings and loved them, they had a ton of sauce on them. I'll go back and get a burger next time.

When there is an event going on, the wait for your order takes about 15-20 minutes to get. There is lots of seating, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Food is good, average price, but you have to order fries or whatever side you may want separate, it doesn't come with the order of a burger or sandwich, brat or hot dog. Not sure if its for events only, but drinks come in plastic cups. The kind you would have at a picnic. Lots of tvs a few really big ones and the rest are about 40 or so inch. All different sports and such playing. Love how the inside is decorated.
