IT'SUGAR Destin Commons — Restaurant in Miramar Beach

This place is amazing for several reasons. The main one being the exorbitant selection of candy that you can scoop into a bag and pay by the quarter pound. They have everything you would expect and so many things you would never imagine (chocolate covered gummy bears?). There are lots of specialty items too: world's largest gummy bear and gummy worm are for sale, along with collector's items like Pez dispensers. I love taking my kids in here because of the nostalgia of sharing with them the candies I enjoyed as a child. We eat healthy pretty much year round: no dyes, no gluten, organic wherever possible. But, while we're on vacation, all bets are off! There are a lot of differences between adults and small children, but most of them disappear when you walk...

I don't ever complain and have never written a negative review of anything! On our recent vacation to Destin, I took my twin nephews, age 6 and my niece, age 4 to IT'SSUGAR and encountered the rudest sales associate ever. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, but when you are impatient, snappy and rude to children, it is obvious you should not be working in a candy shop where your customer base is primarily children and their parents. When we asked questions we were treated like we were bothering her, and she couldn't wait to be done with us.

I travel a great deal with my job and have visited another location with these same children and this was their reward at the end of the day. So...

I went into this store today with my 2 boys; one being Autistic. My son brought me a huge jawbreaker unbeknownst it didnt have a wrapper around it. The worker told me since he touched I havr to buy it. My response was you can ride it off. She told me that if your at a buffet and you put food on your plate you have to buy it and eat it. Never have I ever hated to go into a business and not see everything nor buy anything and be jumped on. She was rude to me and very unprofessional. I will never go into this store again. If your child is under 18 and a disability, dont go in because they are rude... This business...
