So I'm from Philadelphia and I enjoy local/dive bars (or what people like to call dive bars) and this was one of the best local bars we have been to in a very long time. Not only is the service excellent, but the food is unexpectedly flavorful! We are in Myrtle Beach for the week and came here on our 1st day in town as recommended by our resort. I've had French Dip sandwiches in many places and this was the best by far. To top it off, my boyfriend actually ate a Cordon Bleu sandwich with the homemade honey mustard, which has never happened.
On to our first visit...our first day in Myrtle Beach, Melanie was so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, it made us want to come back again. She recommended our entrées and they hit the mark solidly, GREAT FOOD. YES, it's a smoking bar, if you don't want to be around smoke, don't come, find another place....but don't knock it just because of the smoking, it's very well known as soon as you enter.
On to our 2nd visit...WE LOVE LACI!!!! She is not only a fabulous and attentive bartender, she engages with her customers, makes them feel extremely welcome (almost like you're in her home) and is happy to answer stupid tourist questions like "why don't you sell 6 packs". Yep, we are tourists. I would happily hang out at any bar she is working at, any day of the week. Miles, her bar back on Thursday night, was great to chat with about the local area and provided great "insider" information.
Laci, Miles and Melanie are assets to this bar and should be celebrated for loving...
Read moreDrifters Saloon is the hidden gem Myrtle Beach didn’t know it needed. The new ownership has completely transformed the vibe—super welcoming, down-to-earth, and truly committed to making sure every guest feels like family the moment you walk in.
The setup is perfect for any sports fan: plenty of TVs everywhere you look, so you’ll never miss a play no matter where you’re sitting. Whether it’s NFL, NBA, or college ball, Drifters has you covered.
Now let’s talk food: the wings are next-level—crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. I highly recommend the honey hot wings; they hit that sweet-heat balance just right. And don’t sleep on the ranch dipping sauce—it’s honestly one of the best I’ve had anywhere.
The bar is smoke-free, which is a huge win for those of us who like to enjoy a drink and a game without the cloud. Plus, the place is spotlessly clean every time I visit, which tells you a lot about the pride they take in their business.
Add in the friendly and efficient staff who are always on point, and you’ve got the perfect neighborhood spot to kick back and enjoy yourself.
Great location, great energy, and a team that clearly cares. If you haven’t checked out Drifters Saloon yet, you’re missing out—definitely my go-to spot from...
Read moreWent here while on vacation recently in Myrtle Beach. Had to find the Browns Backer Bar in the area, and this place did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the bartender and locals made us feel like we were regulars. Plus, they had ample Browns decorations up compared to another Backers bar in the area. They also allow you to smoke in there (which could be a turnoff to some). I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings instead of fries (a local recommendation). It was one of the best burgers I ever ate! The onion rings were crunchy and on point as well. My wife got a patty melt with potato salad and a side of tater tots (not pictured), which she enjoyed. Our bartender, Melanie, made me a nice margarita as well, and was super friendly. Plus, they had cool Browns Backers shirts as well, so I had to purchase one of them. I would give 5/5 all around, and would definitely go back...
