The absolute WORST experience customer service wise at a restaurant. Rest assured, I was never planning on returning to this restaurant and giving them MY money again ,nor will I refer anyone to this restaurant. I’m writing this review to let everyone know that takes the time to read this, that this establishment doesn’t respect all of their customers and should not continue to treat people rudely. For this to be a locally owned and operated establishment,I hope you truly take the time to retrain and/or remove the staff members that are hurting your business. I pray God changes you all for the better. Additionally ,this was written so Marcelo to understand you don’t know who walks into that restaurant and everyone should be treated with respect, regardless of any preconceived notions you may have. My family and I are in town for vacation and ordered about an hour before closing (9:05pm) we were told the food would take 35 min to be ready so we arrived around 9:38pm. My sisters went in to pick up the food and were completely ignored by the hostess to the point that they left and came and got me from the car (a quick review of other reviews from past customers will show this as a trend for the restaurant). When I walked in, the hostess Monica welcomed me with a hello,I then looked to my sister suprised since her experience was not the same. It was then, when I mentioned how I appreciated that she said hello this time, but that my sisters were completely ignored initially. Monica immediately turned around back to the computer and acted as if she didn’t here me recount my sister’s experience. “Did you not hear what I said” she then replied “Well, I wasn’t up here when that happened”. I then, stated “That doesn’t mean you don’t respond”. To avoid any other issues , I simply signed my check and took the 2 bags she mentioned that were mine initially. Because Monica didn’t want to deal with me she proceeded to only give me 2/3 of the bags for the full order and had to run out after me to give me the remaining food. To make matters worse we get to the hotel (hotel is about 7-10 min from restaurant) and realize half the food is cold (we couldn’t reheat bc we are in a hotel and they only have microwaves , but the meal is packaged in foil & some items were overcooked (carne asada ). Typically food in foil stays warm, this was not the case. I immediately call the restaurant and asked for a refund since it was already 10pm and at this point to many things had happened with this experience. To add fire to the fuel, during my 1st post call with the restaurant, the hostess Monica said they would issue the refund in full & I asked if she needed me to bring the food back. At this time she said no, which as someone who works in F&B typically that is the protocol due to health /food regulations especially since we are amidst a pandemic, I only offered to be polite. Monica then calls back and states that in order to refund me my money , I would in fact need to bring the food back, at that time I had already told my sisters that they didn’t have to return the food, so some of it was thrown away and some of it was eaten. I requested the manager’s name and was given Marcelo. The next morning, I return to the restaurant with most of the food packaged up and Marcelo’s undeniable poor leadership was apparent. Instead of even offering to listen to my experience or even offer an apology, he went through the returned food ( WITH HIS BARE HANDS DURING A PANDEMIC) & accused me of just wanting to cheat them and asked me to never return to their restaurant. The food was $52. If I didn’t want to pay for the food I would have walked out the night before. I genuinely enjoy Mexican food and culture. As a daughter of an immigrant , I make a point to support local establishments owned by immigrants. Please don’t respond 4-5 months after this is written offering any type of reparations or response, just do better and provide better experiences to future customers. The money was never the issue, Marcelo...
Read moreWe just left there. We live half a block away & were really hoping to find a great Mexican restaurant close..... we didn't. This was our 3rd visit and our last. Brian was our waiter and he was very pleasant. I ordered a Burrito California, that was absolutely delicious. I ordered a Strawberry Daiquiri, but got a Strawberry Margarita. After delivering our drinks, Brian didn't return, so I took my wrong drink to one of the ladies standing around (she had originally brought our chips & salsa). I never got a new drink. Brian brought our food and I told him of the drink issue. He left. I ate half my food (still no drink and no Brian). My Husband and I were finished eating. We waited for Brian. No Brian. I called over the salsa lady and asked to speak to the Manager. Then Brian reappears wanting to know why I want the Manager... so I explain that I have finished eating and still have no drink. He says they are very busy. I ask him to just take the drink off my ticket, give me 2 to go boxes and the bill. He returns with the bill, but it isn't our bill, so he leaves again. No to go boxes. I asked the salsa lady for the boxes, which she went and got for us. We left. The food was delicious, no doubt, but on a Thursday evening, when it's not overly busy, I expect so much better. On our first trip, my drink was wrong also. 2 wrong drinks out of 3 trips. My suggestion, order to go,...
Read moreI really liked this place and will definitely go back, although there are 2 things we won't order again, but let's start with the positives. First, they were very accommodating, allowing us to sit outside on a day that other restaurants weren't, due to the cool weather. Second, Andres was a great waiter and took care of us. Third, the chips, salsa and guacamole were excellent and not spicy, so my little one could eat to her heart's content. Fourth, we were given a free desert of cinnamon churros with a hot fudge drizzle and whipped cream. It was Mother's Day and that was an appreciated gesture. Now for the mixed bag. The steak fajitas, served on a sizzling platter, smelling of onions and peppers still cooking in front of us were quite good. The California Burrito with shrimp had fresh, great tasting ingredients covered in the same delicious tortilla wrap that we had tasted with our shrimp quesadilla, but that's where things didn't go as well as they looked. The shrimp was bland. Not bad, just tasteless. And the cheese was similar. They use a chewy, yellow cheese that has the consistency of Jack, but no flavor. So, we will definitely be back, but we simply won't order dishes with cheese or shrimp. For a lesser place, that would be a deal breaker, but this place has other dishes that make it...
