This is my most favorite breakfast restaurant in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I have eaten at several over the past 39 years living here, but this one beats them all hands down as far as service, courtesy, conscientiousness, caring, great food, clean buffets, excellent staff, and a nice facility.
I started dining here about 20 years ago, and have been patronizing this store on and off since then. I have known several managers from the first Glenn Miller way back then, until the present one Ghada O. They are both fine upstanding people, I consider friends.
One very important thing to me is my health. Ghada, the present GM, took time with me one morning and figured out a low to no carbohydrate breakfast that I could eat to help with my Diabetes issues. Ever since, I order the same breakfast every time I dine with my friends at Shoney's at this location. Frank, Nate, and Cool know exactly how I like my eggs prepared and my bacon cooked, and every time they are perfect. Frank even watches for my car to arrive so he can start my breakfast before I enter the store.
Now that is Family. I love these people. They treat me like family. I know each and every server by name, and they know me. I try to dine at least three times per week here. My blood sugars have improved drastically since starting the Ghada Breakfast. I have never in almost 40 years of dining in this area, found a GM who was as caring as she is about people.
Shoney's Incorporated, thank you, for having such a wonderful, dedicated staff at this restaurant of yours at 19th Avenue North and Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I do not have a photo to include in this review, but perhaps Google will permit me to add one later. All the best.

My recent visit to Shoney's in Myrtle Beach was a pleasant surprise, reflecting a significant transformation from my experience a few months ago. Under new ownership, the changes are evident, showcasing a remarkable improvement in cleanliness and guest experience.
The new owner, who is actively involved in managing the restaurant, has clearly invested a lot of time and effort into revitalizing this location. The large, clean parking lot offers plenty of free parking, and the restaurant now boasts an open, spacious feel as you enter the lobby. The entryway and my table were spotless, creating a welcoming atmosphere right from the start.
The buffet was excellent and a vast improvement from my last visit. The food quality has notably increased; the bacon was perfectly cooked and separated, the pancakes were fluffy, the eggs were just right, and the grits were delightful. Additionally, the fresh coat of paint and other upgrades have greatly enhanced the overall ambiance.
The servers were attentive and friendly, genuinely caring about the guest experience. This location, once a corporate store, is now privately owned and operated by a local, which promises even more improvements ahead.
Shoney's Myrtle Beach is well on its way to becoming a flagship store, offering real American cooking at its best. I highly recommend giving...
Read moreLet's start with the good. Because that is a lot shorter. That was the best sausage gravy I have ever had at a shoneys. The breakfast bar was kept full. They were busy, so I can't say how they would have done if it weren't so hectic. But we stood at the hostess podium for a good five minutes. Finally a cook came out and seated us. I went with the kids to the bar so they could go ahead and start eating. When I got back, the waitress had came for the drink order. But we didn't have silverware. I had gone to get my food and then my husband went to get his. We didn't get silverware until he got back with his food. Our waitress never came back to check on us. The hostess and another waiter did our refills. We had to flag out waitress down for the ticket. When we got to the check out. The man(I think he was the manager) didn't ask how it was or anything. He looked real thrilled to be there (note my sarcasm). My daughter went to use the bathroom and came out with her eyes all red. she said it was too stinky in there and she almost threw up. She couldn't even wash her hands it was so bad. Now she has smelled poop before and not needed to vomit. I did not go in there to see what it was. May not have even been the stores fault. I have no idea. This is the second time on this trip that we haven't looked at Google readings before we went somewhere and it bit us in...
