This is the very 1st time I take the time to actually write a bad review of a restaurant and I'm 42 years old and eat out at least 10 times a month and for the past 20 years so this is a REAL review of this restaurant and should be read in my opinion. The service was about a 3 to be fair. I was charged $10 for a side of Pico for my chips and when asked why it was so high the waiter responded with "it's homemade". Oh, ok, I'm glad it wasn't restaurant made, that makes me feel so much better. I ordered the fajitas mixed beef and chicken and wow, those ARE NOT beef fajitas and the chicken had so much fat I needed extra napkins for every other bite. I'm from San Antonio Texas and have had my fair share of non-authentic Mexican restaurants Tex-Mex in 30 plus years but this restaurant takes the cake, NOT AUTHENTIC- DO NOT EAT HERE if you're looking for a "great" Mexican food restaurant. This is what I call a "one visit" place and has remained in business only because of it's location, if this was in San Antonio it would be closed in under 1 year tops...sorry Nashville this is not what our food should taste like...Lopez...
Read moreWhat an AMAZING first-time experience at Cinco de Mayo Mexican Restaurant! From the moment we sat down, Silvia made us feel like VIPs—so attentive, cheerful, and on top of everything. She even refilled our chips three times and kept our table feeling cared for the whole night. The salsas were a fiesta by themselves—different varieties, all fresh, full of flavor, and not the watered-down kind you sometimes get elsewhere. The food? It went beyond what we imagined! We ordered the mixed vegetables plate and the Fajita Nachos Supreme Texan—and both were cooked just right. Not greasy, not heavy… just flavorful, balanced, and delicious. Honestly, it felt like the kind of place where the energy, the flavors, and the service all come together to make you smile. The vibe is warm and welcoming, the quality is superb, and you can tell they really care about giving customers a great experience. If you’re looking for a spot that’s full of flavor, friendly service, and that “let’s celebrate life” feeling, I highly recommend...
Read moreI stopped here last Tuesday (for taco tuesday) and ordered their special margarita deal - a pitcher for $17. I asked for frozen, and after me and my partner ate dinner, the check came with the pitcher being $27. When we asked why, the server said that frozen was not the special, but it did not state that on the signs or website. We told the server that, and he just shrugged then walked away.
Otherwise, we enjoyed the food. I had enchiladas de Norte, and my partner had some chicken and rice dish.
Overall, we might go back, but they really need to update ALL of the signs advertising $17 pitcher of margaritas to reflect that the margaritas must be on rocks to receive the Tuesday special discount.
This was not an ideal...
