Immediate review at the top, rambling at the bottom. Food: I got the pollo al carbon for $18. Comes with the chicken, tortillas (get the flour), a cup of rice, and a cup of beans. A good amount of chicken with great smoked flavor. My favorite part was the sauce lineup because that chipotle ranch is too good. The platter I felt was worth the price considering I had leftovers. My only "critique" is that I wish I had been given a little bit more rice. But everything was good and the workers were very sweet. I'd probably go back again to try something else.
Thoughts: Honestly, I liked this place way better than I anticipated. I'd heard a lot of mixed reviews and though I can agree that the price can feel a little bit steep, I think that has to do with the fact that it's not full service in the sense that a server doesn't take your order at the table. You order at the front, are given a number, choose a table and they bring your food. Not a big deal to me but I can see it being...
Read moreA Thoughtful Take on Southwestern Mexican Cuisine The menu presents a creative reimagining of Southwestern Mexican cuisine, offering bold innovation while honoring traditional roots. I ordered the half chicken, a dish that can often be pedestrian in lesser hands. Here, it was anything but. Perfectly roasted, the chicken arrived with a crisp, golden skin and tender, juicy meat infused with layers of nuanced seasoning. The plating was elegant—worthy of any white-tablecloth establishment—and hinted at the kitchen’s fine-dining aspirations. The accompanying accoutrements were equally well-executed, each element demonstrating both creativity and restraint. Flavors and textures played off one another harmoniously, showing a clear understanding of balance and composition. Most notably, the staff demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence, a hallmark of restaurants destined for longevity. This establishment has not only captured my attention—it’s earned my anticipation for...
Read moreWe must have come on an off day! The cashiers charged me for a margarita, checked my ID, but then gave me a non-alcoholic drink instead. Once I said something they fixed it right away so no big deal. Then my food comes, I was missing a carnitas taco because the cashier did not tell us they were out of pork when we ordered. Even though I am pretty sure I was charged for it. Bailey was very helpful and sweet, she got it swapped out for a chicken taco right away. I wanted the food to be good at this point, but unfortunately the carne asada and chicken traditional style were extremely dry. The place has a great atmosphere and friendly staff but unfortunately the food was not up to par and it seems like the front of house could use some work. Thinking we must have come on a...
