We went there on New Year’s Day with family and ordered Tikkia Chaat & Assorted Kebab Platter for appetizers and then Kadhai Chicken + Biryani + Shahi Paneer + Tandoori Roti (without butter on it) for main course. Sprite for beverage.
To start with :
• The sprite was straight up Soda and not sprite at all and when asked that why is it this way then they said that it’s just sprite and we have to deal with it. • The paneer was still frozen when it came on our table. The paneer was so frozen that you could throw it at someone and it could hurt them. • Kadhai chicken came in at the extreme end and when asked why they said that the chef inside had made Korma instead of Kadhai chicken so they had to remake it. The chicken tasted like it was rotten and it had a smell to it. • We had specifically asked the guy who was taking our order to not put butter on the tandoori roti and he did the exact opposite and gave us roti with butter dripping from it. • After all this, the guy with the beard in the restaurant looked like he was the owner. He was SUPER RUDE. The service was straight 0 out 5. I would never recommend anyone to go here.
We spend our money and go to restaurants to enjoy the food and even if the food is trash sometimes , the service makes up for it but if you end up having such a horrible experience it’s very hard to justify.
I just shared my experience. Make your decision...
Read moreFor over 20 years this place has remained the best Indian food in the world to me. It's where I met my husband! My Goan Indian Chef! ☺️ Maxwell Jovi Gomes your father was an amazing Chef a wonderful Indian man!
He personally made my lamb Tiki Masala for me. He would hide in the back, I never knew who he was. When it was time for me to pay, the guy at the front would always say it's covered ( mind you he's still here like right now lol the guy!) This amazes me, Consistency.
One day he finally introduced himself to me as I walked to star bucks at the same time every day while my sister was having a babe at the hospital near by.
I would spend the night with her because my nephew Jaden was premature.
Anyway he invited me for lunch, after yelling out the door Paula would you like to have lunch with me, I said how did you know my name? It's 3:00pm you guys are closed and you don't open until 5:00pm, he said yes I know but I have your lunch prepared lamb Tiki Masala. I laughed walked over and he had it prepared as if. ( He said to me you will be my wife one day. ) I laughed he was right I became his wife.
Well all my dreams came true from that day forth. Sitar Indian Cuisine. Stanley Gomes what a wonderful man I use to eat here religiously, the smell of the fresh food always amazing always...
Read moreWhile my companions enjoyed their meals at this Indian restaurant in Nashville, I personally found that the overall dining experience fell short compared to other Indian establishments in the area. As I wanted to compare the flavors and quality of the food, I ordered the Lamb Korma. Although it was enjoyable, I must admit that I have had better versions of this dish elsewhere.
The disappointment started with the appetizers typically served at Indian restaurants. One of the items tasted quite peculiar, and my companion didn't even attempt to try it. Even I instantly regretted taking a bite, as it had a crunchy texture resembling onions, although I expected it to be mango. I couldn't quite discern what it actually was.
On a positive note, the Garlic Chili Naan served alongside my dish was delicious, adding a flavorful kick to the meal. However, I didn't bother much with the rice, as there was only one rice dish presented to us. My companion, on the other hand, expressed a desire for more rice options.
While my Lamb Korma was enjoyable, the overall experience and the disappointing appetizer left me with the feeling that there are other Indian restaurants in Nashville that offer better service and a more satisfying...
