My first experience was interesting. The wife had been several times and kept recommending we go sometime, so we finally made reservations and got down there. We went in for the long haul, expecting to be there 2 hours or more, as we were not in a hurry and just wanted to enjoy the experience.
We were seated quickly and immediately served by a gentleman who spoke so softly and breathy, neither of us could hear him, and he frequently had to repeat himself. After making some recommendations, he departed and we perused the wine list. He came back and recommended a wine that sounded good to us, so ordered a bottle. He came back a while later and expressed that they had run out, and wouldn't be able to serve us that wine. We tried something else, and went with that, but it wasn't what we really wanted.
Our cheese fondue was too watery and didn't have good flavor at all. Not to mention that every time our waiter came by, he seemed to want to rush us to the next part of the meal. We hadn't even gotten through 1/2 of our cheese and he'd come by for a 3rd time asking us about our entrees/meats. We finally gave in, but weren't prepared to start making them yet, as we were still enjoying our wine and cheese portion. After just a few minutes, a rather haughty other waitress came by and MOVED OUR CHEESE off the burner! It wasn't good to begin with, but now it started to cool & harden, and we still had quite a bit left to enjoy! We didn't want the meat yet, and were prepared to wait, but were rushed to our second course.
When we finally finished what we could of the cheese portion and moved on to the meats, everything was fine. The meat was good, as was the sauce, and sides. However, we were again being RUSHED the entire time we were enjoying our entrees to move on to the dessert course. We finally put our foot down after about the 4th time of being accosted to order desserts and sat the menu aside and told the waiter we would just grab him when we were prepared to order further. We think he got the hint at that point, and left us alone to enjoy our food at our own pace.
We did finally order our dessert and left satisfied with all but...
Read moreWe took my friend to this location for her bachelorette party. I was the one who recommended this place because of the experience and because a majority of the bridesmaids were from out of state to see her. We were never told there was a special for bachelorettes even though we reserved over a month in advance and confirmed reservation. We barely saw the one waitress. Several of the women never got a refill on a drink. I had to try very hard to flag her down to get a refill on my drink. It took forever to be served (easily half an hour after we were done with each course). When we were served the waitress brought another server. That server explained to the other Half of our group what was going into the fondue while our waitress just dumped it all in and splashed it everywhere. The waitress offered to get us boxes for our entrees and then promptly left for over half an hour. We never got those boxes. We got up and got someone to get boxes for the dessert. We got charged for more than we ordered and the waitress was not nice about this. We were charged 20% gratuity for this terrible service. This was easily $800 for all of us. This was not cheap and everyone vowed to never return again. I tried to talk to the manager about this privately. He tried to shake it off saying they were trying to redo how the do service at their location. Eventually he did offer some compensation so the bride could give the restaurant another try. He sent us 2 $20 gift certificates....$40 would amount to 5% of our terrible meal. That didn’t cover the gratuity for bad service. Worse yet, a meal there easily costs $100. So we’d have to drop a lot more money just to use it. Don’t go here for ‘the experience’ because you will be sorely disappointed and management...
Read moreOn my online reservation I indicated that this dinner was for our anniversary. We waited at the bar for our table, only to find out it was mere inches from the bar. I don't want my husband catching the latest scores on ESPN while we're paying for a $200 meal w/tip. A table by the bar should be for walk-ins.
Our server brought us our first course, which was incredibly delicious, and then we waited. And waited. Thank God for those tv's at the bar. And waited some more. Then she comes out with the third course, our dessert. I was not happy. I demanded to know where our dinner course was.
Then, on the dessert course, we had wanted the upgrade from strawberries and Rice Krispy treats to the deluxe dippers. Yeah, we never got them. By this point, although the food was first rate, we just wanted to move on. I noticed she comped us about $30-40 off our bill, which was very nice. But we were looking for an attentive and present server for our night. I have worked in food service. We deserved an explanation for the wait and incorrect dessert. We never got one. I tipped 20%, but am leaving a lengthy review. I think it's balanced now.
We'd love to go again. The food is fantastic and the overall ambiance...
