Stopped in Rae's for a quick sandwich and was glad I did - friendly staff, great food, and a reasonable price. The service was excellent; they were extremely nice, answered questions, gave recommendations, and were all around friendly. And the food was great; I had a reuben and the bread was steller with great flavors throughout and my wife had the cajun gumbo which had wonderful cajun flavors without being overpowering. We tried the brownie and it was a perfect end to the lunch. My only disappointment is I didn't find this place sooner. I will for sure be a repeat customer.

First time to Rae's today. I ordered the Reuben. I first want to say that the service was fast and the people are exceptional. I have rarely encountered a business staffed with such friendly folks. Now on to the sandwich. It was wonderful. Nice amount of corned beef. The sauce was very good, not the usual thousand island junk that most places serve. This was a homemade dressing that was outstanding. I also had one of their decadent brownies. I had planned on only eating half but kept nibbling until it was gone. Yes, it was that good. Is you have not been here, you should.

I had 2 days in Nashville and came here both days for lunch after spotting a lot of locals dining in on day 1. You can tell it’s a family-owned business by the friendliness, care, and attention given by the team members here. The food is phenomenal, and a perfect fresh lunch before some kind of fried dinner. I had the wicked chicken and the Prince Charming (turkey) and both were delicious. The brownies here are not to be missed

Went here for the first time today. I went with my supervisor on lunch, as he recommended it. I told this randomly to the man preparing my sandwich, assuming to the owner, as he asked me if I wanted spicy mustard and pickles on my sandwich. He asked how I got there, how I haven’t tried them. I told him I live in Murfreesboro and usually bring my lunch from home. He gave me extra pickles (said extra because I love and he took me seriously which I love) on the side and a free brownie after I told him it was my first time. I got Rae’s Cuban(which I guess may be their signature sandwich based off the name? pork lion, ham, spicy mustard, and pickles on a toasted baguette). The sandwich was amazing. I ate everything. It was speedy service considering there were only two people working, and they were busy. So overall positive experience, and I do recommend. I will be returning occasionally in the future on lunch breaks. It was about $15 for the sandwich, chips, and a drink. Which is pricey but the amount, the quality, and the service was there. So I didn’t mind spending that much, plus that was pretty standard for Nashville. (That’s why I usually pack my lunch) It’s always worth it to support local business...

Went to Rae's for the first time today. Tried their special of the day "Jerk Chicken" . I told the guy(the older white man) that was taking my order that it was my first time visiting . I ordered my sandwich and told him the bread i wanted, he asked if there was anything else and i said "I want some veggies, what kind do you have?" he said "uhm you tell him what you want when he asks you" and pointed to the man topping off the sandwiches. I already told him i hadn't been there before but yet he responded as if it was a stupid question and made me feel dumb for saying that. When it was time to pay he snatched my credit card from me, then slammed it down on the table for me to sign. Just very rude. The jerk chicken sandwich was not very good, but i did have the Jalapeno mac & cheese with bacon that was okay. The only part of the experience that would make me want to go back is the black man that put the toppings on my sandwich. He was friendly and helped me decide what veggies would be best on the...

By far my favorite place to go for lunch downtown, and I go at least once a week. The Wicked Chicken is my regular order (spicy with chipotle peppers), which after going in consistently the staff knows! They know their regulars (and their orders!) and address them by name, and all are very amiable. Great service, and they work as quickly as possible to get your order. I'm usually an eye-roller when people go on about food like it surpasses every other you've ever had, but the fresh brownies ARE delicious (and very rich). Only open from 11-2 on weekdays, and it can get pretty packed. They do run out of popular menu items (desserts and soups; I've never heard them say they were out of sandwich ingredients) toward the end of lunch time, so I try to get there by 12:30 on days I'm...
