Las Vegas is a city of superlatives, but sometimes, what you're really craving is a place that feels like a classic, elevated version of your favorite hometown hangout. That's exactly the vibe at Chickie's & Pete's, the Philadelphia-based crab house and sports bar that has found a fantastic home inside the Sahara hotel. It's a spot where you can dive into serious seafood and still catch the game, all while feeling right at home.
Atmosphere & Setting: A High-End Sports Bar Vibe Walking into Chickie's & Pete's, you're immediately struck by the spacious and inviting atmosphere. It's a grand sports bar, but with a refined touch. The space is a showcase of polished surfaces, with large windows that let in a surprising amount of natural light, a rarity on the Vegas Strip. This isn't a dark, cavernous sports bar; it feels bright, open, and energetic. The abundant TVs are a clear statement of purpose, displaying games without being an overwhelming distraction. It's the kind of place you'd be equally comfortable for a casual family meal or a lively night out with friends.
The Food & Drinks: Hits and a Few Misses The menu at Chickie's & Pete's is a delightful mix of classic sports bar fare and their famous seafood creations. The appetizers were a strong start to the meal. The fried mozzarella was a crowd-pleaser, crispy on the outside with a gooey, cheesy interior, and the onion rings were perfectly golden and satisfying. The clam chowder was a warm, comforting bowl of creamy goodness, and the traditional pizza offered a solid, dependable choice.
For the main course, I found the wings to be a point of careful consideration. The wings themselves are delicious and cooked to a beautiful, well-done crisp. My advice to future diners: do not ask for them "extra crispy." They already arrive perfectly golden and succulent; an extra-crispy order risks turning them unpleasantly hard. The one dish that left a little to be desired was the fish and chips. While the other seafood options were stellar, this particular item fell a bit flat.
As for the drinks, I sampled a Bloody Mary, which arrived with a flourish, a crab claw draped across the top. It's an impressive presentation, but I found the cocktail itself to be a little on the weaker side. If you're looking for a drink with a more significant kick, I would highly recommend requesting a double shot of your chosen liquor. The atmosphere here is a great one to enjoy a cocktail in, so it's a minor note for an otherwise solid experience.
Service & Value: Friendly Staff, Vegas Prices The service at Chickie's & Pete's was truly outstanding. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and that we were enjoying every part of our meal. This level of hospitality, even in a busy environment, elevates the dining experience and makes you feel truly taken care of.
The prices are on the higher end, which is to be expected for a restaurant located inside a major Las Vegas hotel. Our family of three spent around $150 for a meal that included appetizers, entrees, and three cocktails. While this might feel steep, it's a fair price for a full, satisfying meal in this city, especially considering the quality of the food and the overall experience. You definitely leave with a full stomach and the feeling that you got your money's worth.
The Verdict Chickie's & Pete's at the Sahara is a definite must-try, especially if you're staying at the hotel or simply looking for a fantastic meal in a lively yet comfortable setting. The food is consistently delicious, with the shrimp tacos and lobster fries standing out as unmissable dishes. While the drinks could be stronger and the fish and chips better, these are minor points in an otherwise excellent dining experience. You will not be disappointed with the food, and the friendly service and energetic atmosphere make it a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a high-end sports bar experience with an emphasis on great seafood and classic...
Read moreWent in very excited today looking forward to trying lunch. Hostess was a lil disengaged and tried to put us (disabled guests) in a back room where there was no turning radius at all and nowhere to drive up to the table for my spouse in a mobility scooter, then she walked away…ok… so we had to find our own table and move our own chairs around to make it accessible. Classy move you guys 😉 but don’t worry, I got your job for you when you couldn’t care less… Ok, figured the food experience would be better, but it wasn’t. Husband ordered crab only he’s left side paralyzed and I ordered a warm lobster roll on recommendation from the waitress. When food arrived Restaurant wouldn’t help remove crab from shell for disabled spouse, so I had to do that while my lobster roll sat there and got cold. Took about a hour to get it done with my weak hands and nerve compression issues, ok…Waitress didn’t seem to care at all, stated “ Don’t you know how to do it?” And then “This is how it’s done on the strip” making it sound like I shouldn’t have problems with preparing his meal because I should know how to do this more efficiently, another problem this restaurant wants its guests to solve…but then again she too walked away.. Cool cool, well this is how reviews are done for places that don’t care about their patrons…Savvy??? By the time I was done extracting his crab my meal was cold and my right hand was loosing function from my nerve compression issues and my non functioning left hand due to injury. But my meal wasn’t even good either, it was a greasy, bland lobster roll, with chewy old lobster, lacking any depth or flavour. It was like they took days old rubber lobster and stuffed it in a greasy semi stale bun. Told the waitress we were not doing well and she didn’t take any action to make it better. Just expected us to pay for that crap. And she did, she charged us for the sandwich I couldn’t even eat. He had two bites of it and the rest was left of the plate because he too said it was STALE ANS RUBBERY. You can save yourself the trouble of a visit to this place. $100+ for lunch and we both left hungry, miserable, and pissed off to no end having basically prepared one of our meals ourselves and the other being inedible. Won’t be going back. 0 out of 10. DO...
Read moreMy family came here for a birthday at 11:25 they only had bar menu which we were fine with. We were a party at 10. My dad is in a wheelchair so he cannot obviously stay at the bar. We ordered 24 wings and they only give us one ranch they said we had to charge for everyone ranch after that. We are mexican and and felt like we're being discriminated against. We had three other orders after that. My sister ordered mor wings and they can only give someone a ranch with another 24 order of wings. I ordered a pizza they can only give me one ranch. I finally took my issue to the the manager to let her know how the training of the a staff missing out on service. none of the employees ever communicated to their manager that there was an issue. that there was an incident. A employee said to the bartender to stop serving anymore at 11:30 when they close at 12:00 take no more orders. I can't believe I and my family had to deal with this.this was completely disgusting. We had to ask for plates, they box up all their stuff knowing that we're sitting at the table they had all our items and to go. Living here I would never do that to my customers we came there 35 minutes before they closing. Jennifer the manager even said I should not shirt off the music and TVs and is her fault. We were eating in the dark so she did say that she didn't know that we're still eating here but it's a party of 10 who does that as a manager. She offered to give it his cake for my sister's birthday but it was more than that it was also a the death of our family that we're here to celebrate as well. I hate my family had to experience the level of disrespect in service and a loss...
