Seeking a culinary adventure at Ping Pang Pong in the Gold Coast Hotel is truly an extraordinary experience. This Chinese restaurant is well-known for its popularity in offering an array of traditional Chinese regional dishes and a delightful dim sum lunch. The restaurant balances authenticity and modernity, creating a contemporary setting that is perfect for enjoying a meal with friends and family.
Recently, my family and I found ourselves redirected from the Palms buffet to Ping Pang Pong - a decision that turned out to be serendipitous. Our culinary journey began with the Salt and Pepper Pork Chops, which were unequivocally the best pork chops we had ever tasted. The succulence, the perfect balance of flavors, and the delightful crunch created a symphony of flavors in our palates that left us wanting more.
As we ventured further into the menu, we were delighted by the Orange Chicken, which delivered a sweet and tangy delight, while the Night Market Fried Rice showcased a mesmerizing fusion of textures and aromas. The Sliced Beef, tossed with fresh Thai chilies, bean sprouts, and diced tomatoes, was a vibrant and flavorful dance on our taste buds, showcasing the culinary prowess of Ping Pang Pong.
Next, we tried the Ying Nan Rice Noodle Soup Vermicelli, a masterpiece in a bowl. It brought together shrimp, fish balls, calamari balls, and minced pork in a sumptuous chicken broth enriched with Ying Nan chili paste, scallions, and cilantro. The symphony of flavors was exceptional, elevating this dish to the echelons of culinary artistry.
As we continued our culinary journey, we were pleasantly surprised by the Asparagus Stir Fry with Wood Ear Mushroom & Mountain Yam, which seamlessly blended freshness and earthiness. Even as someone not particularly fond of fish, the Black Bean Sauce Fish Fillet won me over with its impeccable preparation, showcasing the chef's mastery in turning a classic into an unforgettable experience.
In conclusion, Ping Pang Pong has emerged as a culinary gem in Las Vegas, securing its place as one of the city's best Chinese restaurants. The symphony of flavors, the meticulous preparation, and the inviting contemporary setting make this establishment a must-visit for enthusiasts of authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine. Ping Pang Pong doesn't just offer a meal; it crafts an unforgettable culinary journey that transcends expectations and elevates the art of Chinese dining...
Read moreMy wife loves dim sum. Needless to say this place did not disappoint. Also they have a regular menu. At your table you are given a ticket, each cart attendant passerby will mark this ticket, and then it gets tallied at the end. On the table is a small container of Chinese soy sauce, then the small dipping sauce container of Chile paste. Mix the two to your taste and dip steamed items and enjoy! Also good to flavor the congee with each spoonful. If you are sitting alone, the middle core of the room is not advisable for eating dim sum. The ladies that push the little carts tend to ignore you. Wave your hand to get their attention. Overall it was pleasant. Varied offerings of savory, sweet, steamed, some baked, and some fried. The congee is something you should try, like a rice porridge and topped with crispy wonton bits and spring onions. Also huge shrimps on the shell. Choices of teas, my wife had Jasmine. Somone comes by to check on you tea pot without asking.
Hint: if you want your tea pot refilled, tip the lid, sign of an empty pot and it will get filled promptly.
We ordered a couple of meals later to go. The sweet and sour pork was a disappointment, too sour, very chewy pork, overdone and pineapples were in teeny bits. The salt and pepper pork needed just a tad more five spice to bring it to the next level. Some part of meat cut thinly were good and crispy and tender inside, others are too tough. Chile paste and soy sauce is also a good dipping sauce with this course.
The line and wait was super long between 1230 pm. and 130 pm.
At 1000 am. you can get in right away. There is no line my wife was told by a local.
Decor is very traditional, interesting lanterns on the ceiling, reminds you of old Hollywood night scenes of movies shot in supposedly live Chinese panorama, a landscape incomplete...
Read moreI've heard about this restaurant several years ago and have been wanting to try it for some time now. As most people are aware, there are so many restaurant options in the Las Vegas-Summerlin-Henderson areas, so you have a tendency to forget about some restaurants that you've seen or heard of in the past. Needless to say, that day had arrived - my wife and I visited this restaurant on 10 Sep 2023 and we had a superb experience.
When we walked in the restaurant, we were greeted nicely by the employees up front and got seated immediately since we were only a party of two (I recommend making a reservation if you have a larger group). We ended up ordering the Potstickers, Wor Wonton Soup, BBQ Pork Bao Buns, Mongolian Beef, and Kung Pao Chicken. Everything was outstanding in which I can't sit here and tell you which one was the best item. I was surprised on how wonderful the taste/texture was for the potstickers. I'm normally a big fan of Japanese and Korean-style of potstickers but this one was way up there as well. The soup had amazing flavor; the ingredients hit the spot and blended well in the soup. The Bao Buns were very soft and flavorful, and our main entrees were extraordinary (the Kung Pao Chicken was dramatically better than the one I've recently experienced at another Chinese restaurant). Bottom line, as I mentioned above, everything we ordered was exceptional.
If you haven't tried this restaurant before, you definitely need to make some time to visit - whether you're visiting Las Vegas or if you're a local. Highly...
