Copper Vine
We went to Copper Vine for dinner before going to the Pelicans game.
Reservations: We didnât make reservations too far in advance (we did it on Tuesday for the next day - Wednesday). That being said we probably had an easier time getting reservations because it was an off day. But we did hear them say to multiple people that they were fully booked for the night.
Ambiance: This was a very cute restaurant. Iâd say a date night would be the ideal reason to come here.
Food: Margarita - good but not great margarita. Pink and cute. Probably should have gotten a wine (since they are a wine bar). But when my original drink I ordered was not in stock, I opted for the margarita (since that is my go-to drink)
Pork Belly and Oysters Appetizer - this was probably my favorite thing we got. The oysters were crispy, the pork belly was tender. It paired really well the blue cheese dressing they had with it. Overall we were glad the waitress recommended it.
Chicken Sandwich - my wife and I split both the chicken sandwich and burger which youâll see below. Both were good (probably not great though). The flavor was good. I primarily tasted the dill pickle slaw. I didnât taste much of the hot sauce (it wasnât spicy). Last note, the bun was definitely bigger than the meat. So I just ate until the meat was gone.
Wagyu Burger - Also good (not great). Primary taste here was the burger itself. The grilled onions on there were a nice touch. While I enjoyed it, it was just a simple burger.
Truffle Fries (side) - I got the side of truffle fries. Honestly, I probably would not get this again only because there wasnât enough truffle flavor on there (it felt like I was mostly eating just normal fries).
Brussel Sprouts (side) - These were really good. Very crispy. Lots of parmesan cheese. The aioli was good to dip them in.
Service: Service was decent. They had our table ready for us when we arrived. It took about 10 minutes for our waiter to come around (to the point where we started joking if they forgot about us). After that they were attentive.
Overall: We enjoyed our experience, but we likely will not go back because⌠We have had better experiences at similar restaurants in the area (competitors when it comes to walking distance restaurants to the dome / smoothing king center) There was not anything that made us saw âwow, that is so good and we need to come back for thatâ.
If you do go. Make sure it is a date night type of environment. And food wise, our waiter mostly recommended the appetizers. So that may be...

Copper Vine in New Orleans is an absolute must for any food lover visiting the city. This place is a perfect blend of classy and welcomingâideal for celebrating a special occasion without any pretentiousness. The atmosphere is beautifully appointed, making it a standout spot on your "foodie" list.
We arrived during happy hour and ended up staying for dinner, and it was an experience to remember. The happy hour appetizers were both affordable and diverse. We sampled the Chicken Liver PâtÊ Bites, Smoked Gulf Fish Dip Bites, Marinated Olives, Prosciutto and Fig Bites, and the Eggplant Caponata CanapÊ. Each dish was uniquely delicious, and there was plenty to share around the table.
For dinner, we tried a variety of dishes, and every single one was a hit. The Cornflake Fried Chicken Sandwich, served on a brioche bun with aged hot sauce and garlic aioli, was crispy, crunchy, and flavorfulâa perfect pairing with the Black Truffle Fries. My wife loved it! Our daughter ordered the Waygu Burger, which was cooked to a perfect medium. The Gruyère cheese, caramelized onions, and Dijon mustard made this burger truly special, and the Black Truffle Fries with Parmesan and black peppercorn aioli were an added delight.
Our son chose the Saffron and Wild American Shrimp Risotto, which was cooked to perfection. The creamy, unique texture from the Sabayon sherry, coupled with perfectly grilled shrimp, pine nuts, and bottarga, made it a bowl of pure comfort and flavor.
I opted for the Bianca Flatbread, a light and airy creation topped with olive oil, garlic, and a blend of three cheeses. Upon our waitress Katie G's recommendation, I added caramelized onions, and it turned out to be one of the best "pizzas" Iâve ever hadâcheesy, creamy, and crispy. What a treat!
Speaking of Katie G, she was outstanding. Her friendly demeanor and detailed explanations of the dishes, along with spot-on recommendations for both food and wine, made our dining experience even better. She even brought out a plate of hot beignets with a candle for sons birthday.
From the impeccable service to the amazing food and charming atmosphere, Copper Vine delivered on every front. If you're in New Orleans, do yourself a favor and dine hereâyou won't be...

I got there a few minutes early and went to the host stand to let them know Iâd arrived, but was waiting for my friend. My OT reservation wasnât found by the women working the stand at that time;however, she said seating us wouldnât be an issue. I did show her the email confirmation Iâd received from OT. Then I went outside to wait for my friend. We came back inside where a different person couldnât find the OT reso. We were seated at a two top table practically attached to a server station. I canât imagine anyone being happy with the table, but as a server on vacation, itâs the last place I wanted to be seated. Should have said something, but didnât. My friend ordered iced tea which came quickly. I ordered orange juice a few minutes after service had begun and watched the iced tea refilled at least three times before my orange juice appeared. This was after waiting for a while and asking our server about it. I did notice a carafe of what appeared to be OJ on the other side of the aforementioned server station; although my friend thought it might have been mimosas. Weakest mimosas Iâve seen if that was the case. The OJ was good once it got to the table.
The food was very good. We each had the Burrata and Heirloom Tomato starter served with fingers of crusty bread. My friend had the Tuna Tartare and Caviar as her main; I had the Thyme and Truffle Fritatta with mushrooms, aged cheddar, whip garlic and sweet red pepper sauce. The garlic was rather heavy in the sauce, but I enjoy garlic, so this was no issue.
The Copper Vine has a lovely outdoor seating area and the restrooms were clean and neat.
The next day I received a âslap on the wristâ email from OpenTable that I hadnât appeared at my Copper Vine reservation and could I please let a place know the next time I was going to do such a thing. You can be sure OpenTable got a quick reply from me letting them know what had actually happened. They responded they would be in touch with Copper Vine and again...
