Wow what an experience! If you have been to the Rizzuto's in Lakeview, you have an idea of the quality of the food and service that they are legendary for. However. The Loyola location takes it to a whole new level! A nice lady checked on us shortly after sitting at our table. She wanted to ensure we were happy with the table and welcomed us to the restaurant. After talking for a while about the differences between the 2 locations she excused herself and went to another table to check on them. The waiter greeted us, we ordered drinks and our food. The lump crabmeat appetizer is served on a sizzling hot dish and lives up to the description of being 96% large lump crabmeat. Check my picture... The pasta is made every day. The linguine is buttery, supple and cooked perfectly! Paired with the shrimp Fra Diavolo it was amazing! Just the right amount of seasoning to excite different parts my tongue and not over power the large delicate shrimp. Imagine tender Wagyu beef ground and pan seared into small bite size pieces. Now cover that with a meaty red sauce served over fresh pasta. That is their presentation for Pasta Bolognese, and it is impressive! Again, just the right amount of seasoning to complement the dish and satisfy the pallet. I am looking forward to our next visit and introducing our friends to this amazing family owned restaurant.
Oh, the friendly lady I mentioned at the beginning of this review is Sissy Rizzuto, wife of Jack Rizzuto that not only own the place but oversee every aspect of customer satisfaction and employee engagement. We've been to many family owned restaurants in the area. Very few have owners that are as engaged and personable as Sissy! You have to meet her in person to appreciate the love she has for customers and staff. I highly encourage you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were in New Orleans for Super Bowl and chose the new Rizzuto's Prime for our Saturday dinner in a beautiful new location in the Hyatt by the Superdome. Right when you enter the restaurant, you know there is something special going on.
We were greeted by a young server who immediately brought us our cocktails and came back and explained the specials and of course the seafood selections.
Every dish from the fresh oysters, crab cakes, seafood tower appetizer to the salad to the pasta, steaks and seatood along with the desserts were unbelievable. We even had the cannoli cart which just was something I've never seen before and outstanding. It reminded me of being back in Italy. Don't miss out on the wine selection, but don't pass up any of these craft cocktails. I swear it was the largest bar l've ever seen in any restaurant. It had to be at least 90 feet long.
Rizzuto's is a vibrant addition to the city's legendary dining scene, offering a fresh take on classic steaks, seafood and Italian cuisine. The menu is a carefully curated mix of traditional dishes with inventive twists. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance old school New Orleans and modern contemporary.
Whether you're a local or a visitor, Rizutto's delivers an unforgettable dining experience that captures the essence of New Orleans cuisine.
We cannot wait to come back to New Orleans and try more dishes on the menu. I...
