The 1st Time we came here in 2020 it was great, the doorman was quick the service was fast the drinks were delicious and it was awesome. This year in 2022 when we went again the dooman didnt let us pass but then paid us no mind as he was talking to another couple for over 6 minutes while we were waiting to give him our id's, then he told us that there was a cover charge when our friends just went in 10 minutes earlier and he told them that there was no cover for upstairs only. And so we asked to go upstairs since there was no cover as our friends said and he said there was a cover, so we left and now have a sour taste in our mouth. If an event is advertised as no cover and nobody else was paying cover as they were walking in it kind of leaves a sour taste in your mouth after you've been ignored at an establishment that you plan to...

Really cool local music venue tucked in lower Decatur St between restaurants & shops. While this place is mostly known for its heavy metal, I've seen some amazing funk, soul, surf rock & acoustic bands here too! The dark lighting sets a nice vibe, drink prices are good. Everything from hazy ipa's to mixed drinks, and even some fruit infused vodka on tap! Lots of bar seating + a few booths off to the side. For a "metal" venue, the bartenders and the crowds are actually real friendly. Tickets for bigger bands are available online too which is huge plus. You sometimes get 3 or 4 opening bands, so you'll definitely your money's worth at a show. They're also open early to for a little day drinking action. Definitely check this place out, good times to...

Middle of the road dive bar. Absolutely average of all New Orleans dive bars. But it has one occasional fantastic quality: 2nd floor balcony. Really cool to sit up there and hang out above the noise and bustle of the street. Not a lot of people know about it, either, which is nice. Also, it seems like you have to wait for the Stars to align or take a path through a wardrobe to get there, it's impossible to tell when it'll be open. One time I brought some friends and upstairs was closed. Another time they wanted to charge us $10 cover for the band downstairs, so we left feeling scandalized. So yeah, go, but have a back up if you have your heart set on...

Went here for 80s dance night on a Saturday night and it was a very cool experience. The bartenders were very helpful and patient with me, and the DJ was awesome. I don’t always feel comfortable dancing and having a good time, but I definitely felt that way here! Their frozen coffee was a delicious Bailey’s concoction and I am obsessed. Definitely one of the best frozen coffees I’ve had in New Orleans. Plus, they have water readily available at the end of the bar so you can make sure to stay hydrated.

Hit up this punk rock bar on a walk back from Frenchmen Street to our Airbnb in the CBD. It’s a great spot to grab a beer when you’re already a little tipsy and chat with random locals. Nice bartenders (over 2 visits) and better than average art for the type of bar. You can sit at the bar or one of the few booths. 4 stars because I’d have to know if they can mix a solid cocktail. Should probably give it 5 for the Lemmy art. You never know who you’ll run into based on the varied clientele.
