-Everyday at 6pm- I’ve been getting crawfish at this spot for 8 years and I’ve never seen it packed. Hope the locals don’t hate me for this one. Note: they only do this during crawfish season. #foodreview #foodie #keithlee #foodcritic #crawfish #neworleans #louisiana #foodtiktok

This is a great little dive bar that happens to have great crawfish. It is worth it, so do drop by. On our visit on a Saturday night we arrived at 5:30 for a drink before the boil was served. The bartenders were Katherine and Butter. The bottled beer is 2X1 all day every day as long as they are two of the same type. Butter also was in charge of the boil, which was amazing! So here's how the boil works. You do not need to put your name down on the list, just be in the bar and Katherine will make an announcement at around 6. She won't really even tell you very much else about the boil until then. At 6 they will roll in the giant box/cooler with all the crawfish in it and she will say something like: "It is $20 for a container. Each container hold 3.5 - 4 pounds. You serve yourself and the box needs to be able to close-ish (don't get crazy with the ish because they will watch you and let you know you are at your max)." There is corn, little smokey Vienna sausages, andouille sausage, potatoes, and also garlic, onion, peppers including HABANEROS, so do not do what I did and think it's a bell pepper!! You can share the box, it's plenty, make sure you get corn and potatoes. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ID! We saw many people get denied service because they didn't have any ID. Don't bother arguing, it won't help you here. I know lots of places do not ID, especially on Bourbon Street, but this place ID's absolutely everyone no matter who old you look.

I can't even describe how angry I am with my experience at this pathetic bar. Myself (21) along with three other friends (all at least 24) entered this bar around midnight on the night of Fat Tuesday, 2019. The Bartender was actually drunk. Probably more drunk than any patron at the bar. Meanwhile, myself and all of my friends had no more than one drink before entering the bar. We didn't even want a drink. A local a block away had told us that they sold cigarettes, and we were all desperate for a smoke, so we came. We all entered, orderly and quietly, toward the cigarette 'vending machine'. Before any of us could even walk all the way to the machine, the CLEARLY DRUNK bar tender demanded to see our ID's. That's fine. He's just following the law. But then, this rowdy, DRUNK bartender checks all our ID's one by one. After every ID check, he claims that the individual's ID is miraculously fake. Instead of asking the patron with a LEGAL ID to leave, he grabs them by the neck like a dog and THROWS them out of the bar. We did not act intoxicated. We all had LEGAL ID's, and one by one, this man child threw us out in the most rude way imaginable. The worst part? None of us said a word or put up any sort of resistance, and yet still, once he had us all gathered on the porch of his bar, the bartender threatened us. He actually threatened to fight all of us with absolutely no provocation whatsoever. This guy is eventually going to be sued and or lose his license....

It’s rare to find any diamond, much rarer to find a true diamond in the rough. This is a dive bar but it is a true diamond.

It looks like a dive bar inside and out. It serves cold beer, alcohol and the only food item is Boiled Mudbugs. You know this place is serious about their crawfish when as your eyes adjust to the darkness you see a huge 100 gallon chest of warm mud critters for self service on one end of the bar and then long tables with a big hole in the middle and paper towel rolls everywhere.

The crayfish are big and fresh caught. They are not overcooked or mushy. Cooked with real fresh pepper cayenne peppers, red potatoes, sweet corn, garlic heads, sausage, onions and blend of spices. Unlike most boils there wasn’t the over use gritty cayenne spice feel on the bugs. They were spiced just not so hot it blocks the flavors.

Now those of you who think that the heavy use of dry cayenne is the only way we’ll think again. Oh by the way remember to wash your hands before going to the bathroom or rubbing your eyes.

I’ve had home cooked boiled crawfish for over 50 years. I’ve found good mudbugs in small family owned restaurants near the waters edge on the bayou, in Asian eateries, backyard parties and many a eateries. But this place was the absolute best.

The place is apparently known by local professional chefs and food workers , also its received great reviews by TV cooking shows and even liked by...
