Tonight, I had an unfortunate dining experience where I ordered only a wine and a cocktail without food, as a couple. I had tried the food on previous visits. Sadly, the wine did not meet my expectations and the portion served was disappointingly small, to the extent where I only managed two sips. I asked for a replacement, which was a beer, and to my surprise, it was served in the same glass as the wine. I find it unusual and inappropriate for a beer to be served in a wine glass.
My aggravation continued when I was charged for what the establishment deemed as 'half of my drink,’ which was actually just the two sips of wine I had. Although they removed it from my bill after I complained, the misunderstanding was rather upsetting. The server's assistant asserted that I had consumed 'half of my drink', which was plainly inaccurate.
What tipped me over the edge was the tipping incident. Due to the less than satisfactory service, I refrained from leaving a tip. To my astonishment, the server's assistant went out of his way to follow me a whole building away from the restaurant's property, confronting me to inquire about my decision to not leave a tip. I provided my reasons, which caused him to abruptly leave. This experience was altogether...
Read moreWe came up from Philly on 12/30 for a brief dining and drinks visit and Ardesia wasn’t planned but seemed to be fate! Our WONDERFUL waitress, Francesca, came in the clutch! She expertly detected our Philly accents (hahhh) and In all honesty we landed at Ardesia because we were denied around the corner at Sessamo. We had to push back our reservation around the corner at 10pm and by that time their kitchen was closing. An awesome middle aged local came to our aide walking by us at Seasamo and said, “You guys should walk around the corner to Ardesia. They have great wine, small plates and cocktails and their kitchen closes around 11.
We were greeted immediately and the music, ambience and food/drink were exactly what we were looking for. Our kind hostess sat us at one of the two remaining two tops and our super sweet, professional and efficient waitress, Francesca, took excellent care of us. She told the kitchen we were famished and they worked greatly in accommodating us with several small plates and drinks.
Ardesia owners and team - keep doing what you’re doing and I strongly believe you’ll strive for many years to come in this location. It was such a fun and pleasant experience all around. Thank...
Read moreArdesia boasts an impressive wine selection, which I absolutely loved! The servers were incredibly helpful with their recommendations, making the experience even more enjoyable.
I tried their charcuterie board, which was quite good. I especially loved the mortadella--it stood out more than the prosciutto. The blue cheese was creamy and decent, though not particularly memorable.
One funny mishap: I accidentally ordered the portobello mushroom fries, thinking they were regular fries with mushroom sauce. Instead, they were actual fried portobello mushrooms! While not what I expected, they were interesting. I later ordered the patatas bravas, and they were phenomenal--the sauce was flavorful and absolutely delicious.
I highly recommend this spot for wine enthusiasts. The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for a...
