This is such a FUN experience and I had the honor of seeing Trevor Noah before he left the Daily Show So here was my general ticket experience.
Pre-Show I arrived at about 2:45pm for a 3:30pm call time. I was towards the front of the line with maybe 10-15 people ahead of me if that helps you gauge your time. It was a fairly sunny and not too cold day so I don't know if that as to any lineup experience. At 3:30 PM they ask for your ticket, ID, Covid vaccine proof. Once that's done you get a ticket and a number indicating your spot in line. Priority and VIPs go in first.
At 4pm General admission line moves to where the priority groups were and line up against the wall under heat lamps. This was my least favorite part cause my head was burning and we were out there for another hour. During this time they're giving everyone bathroom breaks because there are no battery breaks during showtime.
At 5pm we went through "TSA" and if you had a large bag you checked it in at the front. Walking into the studio felt SO cool and staff were really organized and assertively kind (get to where you're going but enjoy yourself kind of vibes). When you sit down, you're free to take pictures but once the warm-up comic comes up, phones away or they will take you out.
Showtime I LOVED it. The warm-up comic talked to many random people in group of about 200 he got to me and asked me if you questions and it was all laughs and fun! Trevor came out of no where and everyone went wild. Honestly, Trevor is the kind of guy that just makes you feel comfortable matter who you are. You can even ask him questions between the scenes so get a good question ready!
Post Show Show runs about an hour, from when Trevor gets on and that's it! You leave with lots of laughs and memories :)
Overall: 4 stars cause of that 2 hour standing and waiting. Iâd bring a snack in prep for the line (you could also grab Subway right on that block). Iâd absolutely do this again cause I love Trevorâs show but Iâll be more prepared. Also, no matter what ticket number you are, not a bad seat in the house...
Read moreI would not recommend this as your first (or second, or third) pick of late night show tapings. The actual taping was short but a lot of fun. However, the overall audience experience was such a downer, it did not make it worth it. Trevor Noah was charming but did not engage with us directly like with a Q&A or anything. I'm assuming because they ran so late. The overall experience was so much worse compared to other show taping experiences I've been to as an audience member (Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon). Other shows have much nicer facilities and overall atmosphere. At the Daily Show, it felt like the audience was an afterthought. We lined up at 4:30 with a guaranteed general admission ticket. At 5pm, We were herded into a waiting area with only two chairs and a total of 3 bathroom stalls (for 50-120 people). Then we were herded into the studio at 6pm where the wifi password showed up on the screen to pass the time. We sat there for what felt like forever. They flashed a hashtag on the screen and displayed posts by previous audience members. It would have been more fun if it had been real time audience posts since we had nothing else to stare at. The audience got so bored we started doing the wave. The warm up comedian did not start until 6:45-7:15, followed immediately by the show, which taped until about 8:30pm. We were so disappointed that we trekked all that way (the location is not near a subway) for the daily show and spent 4+ hours on...
Read moreI had a fantastic time at today's production of the Daily Show staring the man himself: Jon Stewart! I don't need to mention the show is wildly popular, and getting a good spot in the studio audience takes several hours of your time; from waiting to get into the building, to passing through a metal detector, being ushered to the restrooms and then being filed into the studio to find your seat. There are very strict rules about staying seated and only being allowed pictures while seated at the beginning of the show before the opening comedian warms up the crowd. The staff is well organized, and they make no apologies about following the rules or you will be invited to leave. It was all understandable, but after a few hours, you're definitely ready for the show to start. All that being said, it was all 100% worth the wait! The show had amazing energy. The warm-up comedian calls out audience members and gets some background, makes fun of everyone, and hypes the room up prior to Jon coming out on set. When we are all laughing and cheering, Jon comes out and takes questions from the audience. Jon Stewart is so witty and clever telling stories and trading quips. It's no wonder he is such a success. His talent is phenomenal, and in my opinion, he is unparalleled in this format. I highly recommend spending your afternoon being a live audience member at his show. It's a once in a lifetime experience if you're a fan, and that is absolutely worth...
