We were surprised to see Oklahoma Style BBQ here in the Upper West Side. It was our first time trying Oklahoma Style BBQ so ordered from here a couple of times! First thing first, Their Oklahoma BBQ Pork Ribs with a side of mac and cheese and cornbread. The ribs were tasty! We loved the dry rub and the meat come off the bone easily, super tender and flavorful. As for the BBQ sauce, it was a lot tangier for sure! But overall worth it!
The Tulsa BBQ Pulled Pork was also delicious! It was served on a brioche roll with pickled red onions, coleslaw & BBQ sauce. It was a flavorful sandwich and they gave a wonderful amount of meat.
We also ordered their Oklahoma Hot Links Sandwich. Now this one was served on a Hawaiian sweet roll, smoked, hot n' spicy beef sausage with melted sharp cheddar cheese, chicharrones, baby arugula, and chipotle sweet pepper mayo. The cheese in this sandwich just melts so beautifully with the combination of the heat from the beef sausage is perfection. Very hot and spicy, worth the mouth burn.
Not to make this review too long, but the crabcake sandwich was also good, a little small - more of a light snack but good!
Lastly, their Homemade Crème Brûlée is well made! great when you are craving a decent price Crème Brûlée. Overall, will come back...
Read moreIt is unfortunate the UWS finally gets an authentic BBQ spot during the current pandemic. At any other time, there would be so much more interest in checking this place out. That being said, I stopped in for lunch last week to support this fairly new establishment. The restaurant had just opened, and there was a small crowd eagerly waiting to order. Good menu, and quite reasonably priced.
I ordered the half rack of ribs, and the brisket platter with mac and cheese, and baked beans. The meat was perfectly smoked and mac and cheese was good. But the absolute winner was the baked beans!! Sweet and smoky, with great flavor and perfectly cooked beans. The brisket was flavorful and moist, but more crumbled than sliced. The one downfall was the BBQ sauce, which is thankfully offered on the side. It tasted more like the base of a pot of chili than anything else. Was not good and completely ruined the great smoke flavor of the meat! And I was not offered bread (I had to ask), which is a staple at most BBQ restaurants. But, with time, both are easily remedied. The staff was friendly and courteous, and I will definitely be back. I truly wish this place success, as it is much needed in the...
Read moreI was starving yesterday and decided to get take-out from this place for the first time.
Got the "lunch special" of one choice of meat and one side with a drink for $12.50. When I received my order, it was noticeably light, and I really should have checked it before it left, but I was carrying a lot of other things and just wanted to get home and eat.
Imagine my disappointment and pure disdain for this joke of a "lunch special" when I got home and saw the two to three ounces of chicken and small container of stuffing I was given.
See photo. I mixed the chicken and stuffing together here just to have some semblance of a decent-sized meal. BBQ sauce container included for scale. Chicken was fine and the stuffing was pretty average. Lemonade was very artificial in taste. Need to reiterate the minuscule portions.
Will never eat here again. It's pretty telling too that this place is empty most of the time. I probably would never have eaten here if I weren't so hungry. This happened yesterday and I am still mad about it. I spent the same amount at Chiptole and got three times the amount of food,...
