BONDST Hudson Yards — Restaurant in New York

It’s just ok, nothing special. We are promptly seated and the seats for some ungodly reason are butt and cheek. Someone had their bag in the seat and they had to move it so I can sit down. I am amazed they don’t have those table hooks women place their designer bags so they aren’t on the floor or taking space that makes the seating even more claustrophobic. One martini espresso that was served it was anemic in taste even the color of the drink was off putting. We wanted to order appetizers first but that is a NO GO here. We were told that they prefer the table’s order was out all in at the same time. Therefore, they set the stage for conveyor belt eating. It’s not fine dining here. It’s plop and serve. The waiters can’t even serve you from the side they just slide the plates on the table. This is definitely not a place you would take a date or propose to someone. The butt and cheek seating makes intimate conversations almost out of the question. While on design, the bamboo ceiling is different. The place setting is basic. The table is basic. It’s just a basic restaurant that wants you in and out. Now let’s discuss the food. I checked several tables. The big eye tuna tarts is popular. The grilled steak was good but at 58 dollars not outstanding. The lobster tempura roll was ho hum and the Hamachi quartet was ok. Look by the time you walk through Hudson Yards to get to the Fifth floor to eat here you would hope this place was special. It is not. It’s a basic Japanese meal that was ok. You never would think an amazing restaurant would be in a mall. But this one is not just any mall. This mall is luxurious. It’s worth going here. The views are epic with the vessel and the Hudson River view. It’s just a destination. Now after I’m done shopping I need food! And this is the perfect spot!!! The food is just wonderful and made and presented soooo well. The food is so unique and different. Now the staff, they make the experience even better!!!! They are so amazing and always responsive and welcoming. They also ALWAYS COME BACK. They are very attentive to their customers and they want their customers to order as much as they can. The food is so different that you want to try everything. The bartenders are really fantastic. Emma and Dylan are wonderful bartenders that were so attentive and easy to order with. They had such great recommendations and always were ready to take another order from me. If you sit at the bar and order food you get a complimentary order of Edemame!!! The drinks are so great. I can’t rave enough about this...

I feel this location is a vibe. Beautiful decor. Lots of big space which is great. Was 1 hour late for my reservation but I called them prior to give them a heads up as I could not control the flow of traffic. When I arrived they honored my reservations no questions asked or issues. Massive points in my book especially Saturday night in the city. Most won’t even give you an opportunity. They sat us adjacent to the bar next to a huge group of girls celebrating a birthday.

I’ve never seen a round table that huge in my life. Pretty cool. We had the same waitress, Mai. She was pretty funny and great. I never laughed so hard or so much with my server. She was attentive and cool and went with the flow of the night. She deserves a raise.

Food was delicious. The OG location is definitely a scene you want to be caught on the weekend but it’s way too small and cramped. This location is like 10x the size and you don’t feel cramped. Crowd looked young and felt sexy. I believe food...
