I rarely leave reviews, especially bad reviews. But the experience I had this week at Campbell and Co. was awful. I did not like this coffee from the first sip. It tastes sour and bitter. I asked the barista for a refund bc I wasn’t interested in anything else at this overpriced hipster coffee shop. Red apples were $2 each.
The barista got their manager and she asked me what the issue was with the coffee. I simply told her it was not my taste. Her response was “well all the coffee shops in Williamsburg use the same coffee bean”. Cool. But it was still not for me as I exclaimed to her. She stared at me blankly for about 10 seconds and said “yea no I’m sorry but we don’t do refunds”. I asked why? She kept creepily staring at me with wide eyes, almost thought she was on drugs. And kept repeating the same thing. I was upset but remained calm. There are no signs that say anything about their refund policy inside or outside I pointed out to which she passive aggressively ignored. I had no choice but to get a remade latte which did not taste like expresso.
A different barista made my 2nd beverage with an attitude and kept rolling their eyes at me. This is another reason why gentrification is ruining the culture of Brooklyn. Horrible service and low quality products. I’ll take bodega coffee all day over this...
Read moreI hate to write this review because this place is where I go some days to grab a strong coffee and a pastry. Sometimes I'll get other specialty items as well. But I had a terrible experience today with this older man working the cash register that I've never seen before. He mixed up my order with the previous customers' order and then when both they and I pointed out his mistake, he told me THAT'S NOT MY ORDER and forced them to accept MY order anyway.
He then told me I WAS MISTAKEN??! Then when I asked for a refund, he then checked and saw he was WRONG, he grabbed my order from the display, and offered that to me instead of immediately refunding me! And he didn't even try to apologize by offering me a full refund on my order. When I saw that I was still being charged by my bank, I had to immediately go back and make sure I got a receipt. Just blatantly poor customer service from this one guy.
As long as he's working the register,...
Read moreVery cute staging! The walls are lined with local packaged and whole foods mostly to do with sandwich making, and coffee coffee making; but also some produce. I loved hanging out on the benches outside with my coffee, the ‘vibes’ are welcoming!
I LOVED the grilled cheese with bacon and fig. The sourdough was crisped, the fig spread took the lead flavor as expected and the bacon was thickly cut and not providing too much oil. Just a win all around.
I did not like my tuna sandwich. I loved all the ingredients, capers, olives, white beans, etc. But, the ciabatta bread was too overwhelming and for a $13 sandwhich I really expected it to be larger, with more tuna, more capers. Like a thick sandwhich but instead it was really a snack.
Service was good and I recommend...
