It was my first time at a Dave N Busters and if I can sum it all up in one word it would be “overwhelming”.
It’s definitely like stepping into a different universe filled with arcade games. Expect it to be crowded if you go in the afternoon on a weekend.
When you walk in, you’ll be confused. Why? To the left is the restaurant (can’t say much about that since we didn’t eat here), to the right are some games. And how do you play the games? You will need to walk deeper in, to the center of the plethora of games where you’ll see a few kiosks set up so you can purchase game cards to tap/play or you have the option of downloading the app to scan. I suggest you get a card and then link it to the app to check your chips/tickets (the card will be much easier than whipping out your phone every time to scan.) Here was my first road block, the kiosk had froze and did not print out my receipt. No biggie. But even if it was a biggie, there’s no one there to help.
Keep in mind that all of these games are short and most games take more or less around 7.7 chips. To the few games I got to within the 1.5 hrs I was there, I think “Mario Kart”, “Walking Dead”, and the hippo game were pretty fun.
Everything is all fun and games until we get to “the pong” where it’s a four player game and each of us had tapped our card on the sensor which turned green and said it was successful. However two of us could not play and lost our chips. The same thing happened with the table Pac-Man game. And in your duration there, you will definitely notice these glitches where you lose chips or you find yourself suddenly playing even though you didn’t even tap your card but it was sensed many inches away.
So a warning, if you tap your card or phone once and it turns green and doesn’t let you play, don’t tap again or continuously tap again because you’ll be losing chips each tap. You will think that the problem is you but it’s not you, it’s the machine.
Honestly, it was a fun experience with friends. However, losing chips was a let down and makes me feel like I need to watch out for every game I play. Play at your...
Read moreTerrible experience. I came in to watch a UFC event and had a bad experience. It took 20 minutes for a server to seat me because this employee didn’t have their walkie on them and apparently the manager couldn’t reach them. Terrible communication even amongst the workers. I wanted to be seated in front of a screen to watch a UFC fight and The server had zero solutions for me. When I asked if I can be seated in the front area that had booths she said sorry we can’t do that. That area had people sitting there and I seen no reason why she couldn’t do that. I went to 2 other servers and both of them couldn’t assist until a 3rd (kind man) seen me and my party and sat us down. His service was decent but then when I ordered my usual order of truffle fries them came out soggy and drenched. Too much buttttah maybe. Also when we asked one of the workers to change a TV that we were facing so that It can play the ufc fight it took our server 3 times to get that man’s full attention to actually change the chanel. Every time our server asked this worker to do so he would just got on his phone and walk around the bar. He looked like a shift manager maybe. Another thing that annoyed me was once the final fight ended the manager shut the Tvs off ! this is extremely unprofessional. Part of the fight experience is to hear the words of the fighters in their post fight interview as they discuss what they just went thru. It’s literally a 5 minute interview and the managers just shut it off directly after the winner was announced. I never experienced that in other D and B locations. I also over heard this same manager say that he wants someone “to lose already” so that he can go home. That’s fine to want that but maybe it’s not so fine to say that out loud while other customers and fans are hoping for a good fight.
The experience sucked overall and I never have this experience at my D and Bs in new jersey. I will never ever waste my time in this atlantic location. It’s poorly ran and they use to...
Read moreI was quite disappointed today when I went to Dave n busters because usually I have a great experience but today was terrible. And don’t get me wrong. The games were amazing , although a few of them were broken, but compared to everything else that was the best part. So when I walked in, I went to go eat before I played the games, but I couldn’t even do that because of how long the food took. Luckily, they had a deal where if you buy a combo meal you get like a certain amount of credits, so I was able to play while I waited for the food. But I was waiting for about 30 minutes to an hour before I actually got my food. The food was amazing. I’m glad it didn’t taste bad, especially for how long it took. Anyways, when I finished my food, I went to go play and my credits ran out so I wanted to buy like 30 more but the lowest option that they had was 100 credits which was 20 bucks. This is such a scam because I didn’t have many games to spend it on. By now I’m sorta having fun/ sorta mad so I go to get a prize and I look around for a bit and finally decide to only get candy and one of those sticky hand things. But the cashier isn’t there because he’s helping a customer so I patiently wait in line for 20 min until he finally comes to ring her up. But he rings her up in a separate station. Mind you, he’s the only cashier there. So then a line starts to form behind the lady and im like I’ve been waiting here for long time y’all better not skip me( in my head). Then the guy walks over and I tell him: can I please just get this and these two candies? And you know what happened? He printed something out and gave it to the lady, then helps the lady behind her. I’m fuming at what happened because he clearly saw me and so did the other customers, and yet they STILL skipped me. This place was terrible, the...
