I recently visited El Punto Cubano with my mother and we both had the ropa vieja a la habanera. Let me just say, it was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed it! The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the energy instantly made us feel at home. During our visit we had a conversation with Amanda, the owner. She took the time to chat with us, sharing stories about everything from rice and beans to family and life experiences which I'd say was the highlight of my experience.
My history with El Punto Cubano goes back to my school days when I would visit with friends between classes. That's actually when I first met Amanda. Her personality combined with the excellent presentation and taste of the food is what keeps me coming back. Amanda and her staff excel in all three categories—attitude, presentation, and taste.
They put so much care into everything. They don't make you feel like you're a bother if you have questions or need a little extra time to decide on your meal. The food isn't just thrown onto the plate; it’s presented like a work of art. And the flavors—oh, the flavors! You can tell that they’ve carefully selected each spice and blend to craft their recipes.
I sincerely hope this place never changes. It's a true gold mine in the middle of the market, and I wish more people knew about it. If you haven’t been to El Punto Cubano yet, you're missing out on an incredible culinary experience. We will definitely be...

Read moreThey can be good, but you have to order the right thing. The salmon a la parrilla or other dishes accompanied with red/black beans and rice are really good. But the tomato based rices like a traditional arroz con pollo can be a bit salty and soupy, and pictured here was a Paella de Mariscos that disappointed me enough to leave this review.
Vienna sausages in the dish (admittedly a home cooking, old school move, but for $30 we can use real chorizo), and older mussels. The salty soupy element I mentioned is here as it’s clear it’s the same arroz as what’s prepared for A con P or Ropa Vieja.
Like I said, the plainer dishes are good, hence the 3 and not a lower ranking, but do not waste you money on...
