if you came to Famous Ben’s Pizza and ONLY had the a typical slice from a round pie then you have failed as the slices from the round pie are just okay (3 to 3.5 stars) . however if you had a square slice aka a Sicilian slice (4 to 4.5 stars) then your mission was a success and you’re living your best life. Ben’s has that old school slice joint vibe. fairly clean interior. huge display of slices / pies. there’s also some outdoor seating for those dining al fresco. Ben’s is as much a neighborhood joint as it is where tourists plop down when they need calories in the form of cheese and sauce on crust. i opted for a plain square / Sicilian slice and it outperformed my expectations. the cheese was oozing and super melty (definitely NOT the cheap fake-o cheese). the sauce is rich and flavorful—not too sweet or salty. the square’s crust is nice crunchy and crisp on the bottoms and firm chew on top. the square is a classic and delicious—really does not need toppings. it’s $4.50 + tax + tip. if you’re spending money on anything at Ben’s, get the square slice. the round slices as i mentioned before really are average and kinda overpriced at $4 + tax + tip. staff is constantly making pies, so that means pizza is constantly getting turned over which translates to your eating fresh pizza here as opposed to stuff that sits all day and night.

Came here with my Mom when she was in town as she had yet to get a NY slice. Ben's was close to her hotel on the walk back after a long day of shopping… We F'd up Banana Republic. Vibes were UP in here, as there was a guy singing along to what sounded like some Italian music as he flipped pizza dough in his hands. Felt NY af. We each got a slice of cheese and it rang up at over $10. Like damn. Has any other market inflated more than the pizza by the slice market over the past 5 years? Pain. But, the Pizza was great. The crust was the perfect amount of crisp, and had hang time when you picked it up. The cheese to sauce ratio was near perfect, the only thing I'd say was my slice had a little too much crust. See attached picture. They're even flexing a laminated 8.1 on Dave Portnoy's pizza reviews right by the register in here ahahah. He's really dominating the pizza market. A quick google search tells me 8.1 is pretty good on his scale. He even says 8.1 "sits amongst the gods" ahaha. Respect. IG @jnov_ Tikotk @jnov__

This pizza was not good. I got 2 regular slices. Either there was too much cheese, or I just didn't like the cheese they used. The cheese was too "heavy", if you will. The crust was too soft. Also the sauce was very garlicky. While I was there, I noticed a Men In Black 2 poster on the wall and I took a pic of it. Later, someone told me that it's there because there was a scene in Men in Black 2 which took place in Ben's pizza, which I thought was pretty cool. So you might you want to visit for that reason, but don't come here if you want great pizza. I found there to be enough seating inside if you want to sit down and eat.
