For a recently opened buffet, I had some expectations for the place. However, I was very disappointed in the experience. Because it was Thanksgiving, I did expect a price hike but not an increase to $88 per person. It was not worth $88 per person.
Yes they had cooked food but there weren’t a lot of dishes. The sushi variety was also lacking. They did have fresh seafood that you have to bring back to your table to steam with the steamer on your table. You can also get a hotpot if you wanted to eat hotpot but I didn’t get that so I cannot say much about it. Their desserts weren’t very good, minus one or two things. They did have a lot of free drinks that you can choose from which you don’t see in a lot of buffets.
However, I didn’t really appreciate the mixed communication between workers and staff. On my way out, I was told by the waiter that I can take a drink on the way out. Just as I took one, suddenly a worker rudely accused me of stealing even though I already finished my meal and was clearly on my way out to pay for my meal.
I also hope they redesign their restaurant in the future because the placement of everything was really confusing. The cooked foods were inside where the seating area is, however, the fresh seafood, drinks, and desserts were all at the entrance of the restaurant. They had ice cream but the box storing the ice cream was placed near a staff counter where workers were actively working which made it confusing whether you could approach it or not.
Overall, the decoration of the place was very nice but the food was not as great for the hiked up price they charged. The floors were also all extremely slippery, like oil was spilled everywhere. It just wasn’t the most pleasant of experience and I likely won’t come back here again. If you want to try it out for yourself go ahead but I wouldn’t...
Read moreI’m so upset that I can’t give this place less than 1 star. My mom and sister have been working with the restaurant for MONTHS to plan my Chinese wedding banquet - menu, table settings, color palette, all of the details.
It is now the week of the wedding and they present a menu that is not at all what we agreed upon?? Looked like a cheap version, leftovers of what they purchased extra of, I have no idea. They seemed not at all ready for the event that is in just 3 days and extremely unresponsive.
Initially, we thought their lack of response was because they’re a fairly new restaurant but they became even less communicative AFTER receiving our deposit… We thought it would get better closer to the date but here we are, the week of the wedding and none of the details my family discussed with them have been considered.
Ultimately, it’s probably for the best that this fell through because I can’t imagine how disastrous my wedding day would’ve been but I am now venue-less with 80+ friends and family coming from out of town… oh! And they refused to give us a full refund for their lack of attention.
THANK YOU FOR RUINING MY WEDDING, FISHERMAN BUFFET. YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED!
TLDR: Stick with East Buffet & Restaurant for your Chinese...
Read moreI rarely leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience for others who may be considering dining here. Unfortunately, my visit was very disappointing for several reasons: The owner personally seated us at a table directly under a ceiling leak, despite other available tables. The leak dripped onto my food, which was unacceptable. The hot food bar was noticeably stale, with items that appeared to have been sitting out for hours. When I requested fresh sushi, the sushi chef responded with clear frustration and treated my family and me rudely. The seafood was of poor quality. One of the clams served was dead and filled with dirt. Additionally, I witnessed lobsters and crabs being re-used—washed and then placed back on customer plates, which raises serious food safety concerns.
I sincerely hope management addresses these issues, as this establishment has potential but, in its current state, does not provide a safe or enjoyable...
